2004 g35x..good buy?

Hi guys, Im a noob here and hopefully will be gettin an 04 g35x soon. My parents and I have been looking at cars, and I really like the G(dads got a Q and my sisters got a Qx4), but they say they wont buy me a normal rwd sedan or coupe...has to be awd. So we're looking at the G35x. Problem is my dad needs to sell his 97' Q45 and is having trouble doing so, so we are gonna have to trade it in at a dealership or something, when we get my g. We found one that was 22k, 46k miles, base model, and the dealer was gonna give it to us for 15.5k with the trade-in, but that sold. Now we're looking at an 04, premium package g35x with 26k miles for 24k(w/o trade-in) and an 04, with aero package, no premium, and 48k miles for 23K. Granted, the sales rep has'nt given us the bottomline price for these cars with the trade-in yet, or have we gone inside, sat down, and haggled with the guy to get a the price knocked down. If I could get the one with 27000 miles, knocked down to 22k plus the trade-in(6k or so), would that be a good price?

sorry for that...the dealer got back to us. He wants 18.9k for the 27k miles prem package 04 with our trade-in...my dad thinks thats a little high. So he offered 16,325 for an 04' x with 48k, white with spoiler and tint, but no prem package...which would be the better deal?

Dealers will always rip you off on the trade in. I assume your dad has the title and it's paid off? He can probably drop his selling price, list it online (autotrader.com is pretty good), and he'll get a better deal for his Q than th dealer will give him. I doubt the dealer would give you more than $4K for the Q. Negotiate the selling price of the G before you talk about the trade in. Dealers like to bundle it so they can play with the numbers. So if they're asking $24K, take it for $21K or something like that. Then work in the trade-in. Good luck....

And if you talk it down to $20.9K and they low-ball you on the trade, then you can still walk away....Is there a Carmax close to you? Your dad might try getting a free quote from Carmax to see what they would buy his car for. They usually give you more than the regular dealers for your car. You'd still get more selling it on your own though....
