I am thinking about buying the latest G35 Coupe,
or should i not waste money on a new one?

and if I should buy a used G35, which year seems to be the best, as far as, less problems, and easy of modification goes.

Also, what are the most brought up problems on the G35 Coupe? So basically, Strength and Flaws of this car?

Thank you very much, and I am enjoying this forum so far!!

I would go to an 06 for used. You would get the revup motor and the projector headlights. The 05 was buggy with the oil consumption problem. As far as I know they worked out most the lil bugs for the 06 year.

All RevUp engines ('05 to '07 equipped w/6MT) may have the engine oil consumption issue. There have been numerous reports/posts of consumption issues with the '05 and '06's from owners, here. I have to assume that the '07's are still too new for the owners to notice any issues, yet.

If checking the oil level and topping off the oil level on the RevUp engine will be an issue, I would suggest getting a coupe with a non RevUp engine.

The engine oil consumption issue is the abnormal consumption of engine oil. The oil change interval is still the same. You simply need to monitor the oil level more frquently and add, as required. I routinely change my engine oil at 2,500 miles, as I do with all of my cars.

The G coupes which come with the RevUp engine are as I previously stated. The non RevUp engines are other than I had stated. The new '08 coupe will have a new engine platform.

Non-rev up VQ's are on all 05-06 5AT's, 07 5AT coupes and all 03-04 G's.
07 Sedans have the new generation VQ35HR. Haven't heard any reports on oil consumption with that new VQ so far.

Oh...in simple terms, Rev-up is the 298hp compared to the 280hp non rev-up.

I would say get a used '06 nice headlights and some bugs fixed, new get the '07 some cool stuff, there is actually a button at the left rear tailight for the trunk haha, and no more choke of death, the seat belt is mounted on the left side of the driver seat, and the driver seat is fully powered.

I'd say go for the 06 model. Little newer probably less mileage models around. Also the oil consumption is something I believe has been a problem in all model years atm. It's up to you. I say find the one that has the best package and lowest mileage that you like.
