Help! Negotiating with a dealer on '07 coupes

Hi everyone!
I wanted to get a price check on an '07 Diamond Graphite G35 coupe. Its an automatic with all options (NAV, sport suspension, 19" wheels, XM, etc.) the MRSP is 41k. The dealer was willing to come down to 38K and hinted that they would come down more. I told them I would be back tomorrow to make a counter. What would be a decent price for a "loaded" car?

Also, they have a '07 black obsideon with all options as well. However, its a manual. Even though I said I would never buy black again it looks great, plus the manual shift would be fun. It also has a MRSP of 41k. Would the negotiating price on the auto and manual be about the same, or do you think I could get the manual at a more significant discount?

My friend just got his OB 5AT with everything except Navi. for 37G's last month. MSRP was 43G's.
I myself is thinking of getting an '07 too. IMO, 38K is a good price right now. I'm sure it'll go a lil' lower once the '08's come in. The problem is, those '07's might not be available then.
Try getting the OB 6MT for a lil lower 35-36K. That would be a great deal for you.

Look on edmunds and check what the invoice price of the car is. Try and negotiate the car as close to that price as possiable.

When I bought my 2004 G35 for (34,000) with only 8,000 miles, I negotiated from the KBB price.

Infiniti needs to sell cars so if you can get another 2 grand off, you have probably achieved a great feat.

Is the car brand new, or used?

Both cars are new 2007's. I was hoping to get a deal deal since the 2008's are coming out and infiniti is having 1.9$ financing. I'm going to think about it this weekend and try and go back and offer 35k for the 6MT or maybe 36k for the 5at. The 6MT would be nice but black is so hard to keep clean

there is no way an auto coupe would have a 43k sticker without navi...unless he bought a car with dealer installed options on it, a lot of them, the car fully loaded WITH nav is $42,355..

check out consumer reports new car price service
its about 25 dollars for the service and you can price any car
it tells you what the dealer paid for the car and any rebates
that the manufacturer is offering, also it offers tips for negotiating the price.
Also how much all the the packages cost the dealer

I priced it with what you mention . his price 356473
and manual is about 400 cheaper
aero pack, nav ,tire/wheel pack,sports susp,premium

I used to buy my 07,5at, everything but the spoiler and i paid invoice,

good luck with your purchase

I just bought a peral white G35 6MT fully loaded with everything except the satellite and ipod conectivity and paid $35,500. The sticker price was 41k

I ended up putting down $12,200 and opted for the Zylon paint coat, prepaid service (pretty cheap), tire care, and lo jack.

I decided to do 72 month financing and my payments are 499/mo. I figured that I'll pay maybe 650/mo to reduce the amount of interest paid, but I wanted the flexibility to only have to pay 500/mo incase of a rainy day.

There is supposed to be a factory to dealer incentive of 1500 on G35's to make way for the 2008 G37. Also, dealers who sell more G35's are entitled to more G37 coupes, which are presold like candy.

So, don't be afraid to negotiate! You can get what you want for a decent price.

Well, I wasn't able to make it out to the dealership Saturday, so I'll try again tomorrow after work. After reading everyone's post I may try to go in and lowball at 34,500K. That seems insanely low from an MSRP of 41K but I can see what happens. I've also decided to get the 6MT instead of 5AT

As others stated, check Edmunds for invoice pricing and incentives. As you mentioned the finance rate right now is great. I got my 07 coupe at dealer cost 7 weeks ago but I didn't get the financing they are offering now.

I'd suggest you try now and see what you get. When I went to the dealer on Saturday to buy my G, they sold a lot of the G's that day. The place was really busy so it took me all day to get out of there.

I know I have good negotiation skills, BUT I still wonder why they were willing to haggle as much as they did given the demand.

The finance guy told me that the more 2007 coupes they sold, the more G37 vehicles they were entitled to get from the factories, which were selling for invoice or more. So, I guess that taking a profit, if at all on the older models made way for the profits on a new model sale AND they got a trade in from me that I'm sure they'd be making a profit on when they resale anyway.

I'd try to negotiate and see what you get. By the time the G37 comes out, there may not be a G35 left to your liking (options, color, etc). It never hurts to try.

I hope you get what you are looking for.

honestly I only have 5 coupes left and they are all selling very quickly. the 1.9% and 0.9% financing is great so people are all happy about the pricing w/ the remaining '07 coupes
