Help, advice needed!

Ok, I am getting cold feet over my Saturday purchase. New 07 coupe fully loaded except Nav. 2 left on the lot, they want 37700 +taxes which seems high, but they are giving me 16K for my wrx that books at 13K trade in. I already put down a deposit of $500 but didn't sign anything. Is that refundable if I pull out?

Pros are the 1.9% financing, last 07's on the lot, trade in value.

I don't know guys, i can afford the payment but don't know if I should pull the trigger. Let me know what you think.

That sounds high to me. I got an 07 5AT fully loaded (except Nav) for $36250+fees/taxes about 2 weeks ago. That's about $500 over invoice. But on the other hand, they're giving you $3000 more than you expected for your trade-in. So - unless you made an error estimating you trade-in value - if the dealer really honors that offer, you're going to come out ahead anyway.

$500 IS refundable. You haven't signed any contracts obligating yourself.

I'd still try to get the price down a little considering the 08 will be coming out next month. Is it a 6mt or auto? I know the 6mt are a lot harder to find so that might justify the price. You gotta ask yourself are you sacrificing anything ie, is it the color you want, with the interior color you want, all the amenities, etc.

It is 6 speed, its the color I want, KBB says its the right price. I don't want the g37. The only thing I keep hearing is that people are getting them for less than invoice and stuff. Is this true or what?

Iv'e heard that about the 07' sedans but I'm not sure about the coupes. I can't remember what the invoice was on mine but final price payed, out the door was 36230 back in June 06. Fully loaded 6mt coupe. The only thing it didn't have was the navi and bluetooth.

The MSRP on it its around 39555 and invoice is 36124, yes few have paid below invoice around here, there were 1.5k Manufacturer to Dealer incentives as well, meaning that one should able to get 1.5k below invoice at least, but it seems like it was replaced by 1.9% financing.

So tommorow is the day that this is all going down. Any last ideas guys? Should I take the deal because it will be the last opportunity to get a new 07 with 1.9% financing?

or

Do I fight for a better price? How would I go about this? Do I just demand more money off and see how much they really want my business? Were dealing completely through email now so I feel I have some leverage.

Please let me know.

thanks

HOW MUCH are you gonna put down?

it would be 40k after taxes. I got my 2005 for $37,300 after the taxes back in 2005, same package you have, but it's an Auto.

I didn't get 1.9 % financing though.

Why would you be contented of paying 1.5k above invoice? while last two years around this time? ppl were paying invoice or below, so why would you be paying 1.5k above for last model year?

I'm putting 3K down. I think I'm starting to see the light now. So how much should I offer 36K out the door?

The sale's tax and DMV fees are different from State to State so its hard to talk about out of door price.

Its difficult to suggust a exact price for what you should've pay, if I say 500 below? inevitably someone will chime in they just bought a G for 1k below last month and make me look like dumbarse, but thing is that we dont know whats behind the reason they got a such great deal, wheather they have a trade, did they buy extras like paint protections or did they have past experiences with that dealership...ect

Having say that? If you could get 1.9% financing? I'd say 500~ish below invoice would be a "fair" price for now. Good luck with the purcahse! post up pics when you get the car.

Ok guys, talked to the dealer, I got it down to 35143. Now one more question, are taxes paid on the price of the car before or after trade in? I assume after trade in because that is the purchasing price of the vehicle. Thanks guys for all the help.

Depends on the State you are in, in Cali? they dont allow the trade-in value to be deducted from "purchase/selling" price, so we paid sale's tax base on the full purchase/selling price....Now, 35143 is the selling price right, it doesnt include your trade right? and you do pocket the extra 3k from the trade-in right?
