Daymn.....I'd be happy if they forgot the 3k I have left to pay off!
But, like most others said, something isn't right.....don't let their mistake screw with your credit history......Don't let it go too long. Get to the bottom of it, and you'll either get a title, or get to continue to pay off the sucker.

At least you wont have to make a payment for a while untill they do figure it out. This of course might take a while so sit back and relax, banks dont make permanent mistakes in your favor.

20k is quite a bit... I'm with the few that say you need to go up to the bank personally, show them the letter, and see what they say.
Perhaps play a little stupid to see if they can call around to check and be absolutely positive, then get something else printed out saying everything was fine and the bank agrees with the zero balance. Then there is nothing you can't say you didn't do to try and correct the problem if later on something does come up.
In short, 20k is a good chunk of change in the numbers. Someone will want their money...

Exactly! I definitely wouldn't just wait it out either. If they figure out they made a mistake 6 months later and come looking for payments, your credit is gonna take a hit. If it were me, I'd be on the phone with the bank until I found out what is going on.
