NEWB...what is this in the car?

Hi Guys,

I'm a NEWB to the board, I'm looking into buying either a 05 or 06 g35 coupe and have been doing research about the car....this may be a stupid question but what is this??

http://img210.imageshack.us/my.php?image=g35picpu6.png

I don't know if that is just interior styling or is that a console or a small compartment?

Sorry I started looking into this car and don't know what that is...any help would be great, thanks guys.

its a small compartment. It takes the place of the navigation unit if your car isnt equipped with one.

thnx!

I kinda thought it was for that...but thanks for the clarification

now for the G35's that do have the navi system is it visible all the time or does it have a cover or a sliding mechanicism that goes into the dash.

And can 3rd party navi systems be placed where that compartment is?

thanks for your help

thats the un-official sun glass compartment... since the original provided is too small for it's intended use

It doesnt show all the time if you dont want it to. Yes you can modify the compartment however you want, I believe there are kits out that allow a screen to move in and out of the compartment.
