Am I being realistic - G35XS Lease Payment
Am I being realistic - G35XS Lease Payment
I'm looking at leasing a G35XS w/ premium, nav, sport, painted guards, and want to make sure I'm being realistic on the negotiated price. After looking over posts going back to the beginning of 2007, it looks like people have been getting deals at or below invoice recently.
So, I'm using $400 below invoice as a target. Does this sound realistic for this particular model? MSRP - $40,515, Invoice $36,971, I'm using $36,600 as my negotiated price for my calculations.
If so, based on the most recent money factor, resid, and a small amount of equity from a trade ($300), I'm coming up w/ a monthly payment of $503, which includes 7% tax.
Am I in the neighborhood?????

It also depends on the options. If you are looking for the awd sport package then that number seems fair to almost high. I traded in which tacked on 3k to the final price + got all the options and with a 36 month lease with 0 down came out to 667 a month otd.
That number is a solid number though, not too low or high. My 2 cents.

AWD sport is a relatively rare car.... We dont even keep those in stock here.
Send me a PM with more details and I'll get you some realistic figures to aim for.
Test drove the car yesterday. Yeeeaaaahhhh, this is the car for me. Sent out requests for quotes to 6 dealers, so far the best initial is $700 over invoice. I'd actually be pretty happy w/in 4-500 over. Hope to be a G35 driver soon.

we actually tested the g35xS today and got a price of 649$ a month with nothing down.. just a sign and drive.. the sticker on the car was same.. i think $40,5--(something)..he wanted us to take the car.. obviously.. we have an audi A6 that currently has 5 months left on the lease.. but wanted to test this car out and get an idea on the price..
we actually told him that we wanted to be somewhere between $599 which he said was a cost for something else but i cant remember what.. and the $649 that he quoted us.. he can get us there.. and hes not making anything hardly on this deal.. but he actually said it would be better for us to keep the audi a lil longer.. maybe 2 payments left.. then come back.. they can work it in and it wont get much higher..
so it seems like were all around the same amount.. damm i love this forum... just found it tonight.. im definitly gonna get this car.. oh and the ll wheel drive only adds a $1000 to the car.. thats it.. so its worth it..

I think the price they are quoting you is high, especially if you are in a state that doesn't charge sales tax on the entire purchase price.
Get them to give you the price w/ all fees, etc. then you have something you can shop the other dealers with.
Otherwise if you only have the monthly figure, you can only shop that monthly figure at other dealers, and they may adjust other factors to provide you with a quote that "looks" better.
I had to hold off on making my purchase for a couple of months. We just had a re-structure in our office, and I want to make sure everything sifts out ok before I commit to a lease. But, I already had 2 different dealers at, or below invoice. I hadn't factored in the bank/acquisiton fee originally, and I wasn't aware that I'd be paying sales tax on the entire purchase price. So once I factored all that in, here's how that numbers worked out:
G35XS w/ nav/prem/sport/ cargo net:
MSRP 40,425
Invoice 36,903
Negotiated price (w/ all fees other than bank/acquisition) 36,903
Bank/Acquisition fee 595
Sales tax (6.25%) 2,306
Adjusted Cap 39,804
Residual 59%
MF 0.0021
Lease Payment $576.83
My payment would be $539.67, if I lived in a normal state that only charged sales tax on the lease Payment.
So, if you are in a state that charges sales tax on the lease payment, it looks like the quote you are getting is at full MSRP price. That's not a good deal considering what everyone has been getting lately. If you are paying sales tax on the entire amount, then that payment is only about $1,200 under MSRP, and still $2,400 over invoice. Definately can do better.
Good luck. And I hope to pick mine up by the end of April.

Working the negotiation table here at my local dealer.
Many Thanks,
