Getting ready for a G35

Hi, as the title says. I have researched a bit on the forums for any problems just wondering if I missed anything. Right now im looking at an 03 with 64k on it, just AT with the premium package. Carfax says its clean and has had 2 owners. So, I know there are a few things:
First is the window motor going bad about every 2 years,
second lose rear axle bolt,
third problem with the fuel line.
Other than those are there any other major problems. Seller also said that he has kept records of all maintenance. So I'm wondering since he has had it for so long now without any of the mentioned problems, can they come up now? I know is stupid , but since alot of people experience them before hitting the 60k im hoping is a possibility that they were fixed already. This is going to be my car for a long time, probably till it dies, so can a lot of the maintenance and none major repair be diy? Probably going to get a cold air intake and strut bar, and some new rims after i get it .
Its long I know but need to make sure. Hope to hear back soon, going to test drive tomorrow woohoo, oh and **** the snow chicago = not g35 weather atm.

I'd get a newer year with less mileage and less owners, if I were to buy used. It's worth paying the extra $$.

Yea, but I was afraid of the Oil consumption issue with 04+. Maybe just get a less mile 03-04? its only for 17k thats why Im considering it.

Oil consumption issues only started on the later 05 models and early 06 models and even then 95% of the cases were on revup engines (MT only)

I would look for an 04 or 05 used with less miles. like jdm said its worth the little extra money

I'd say if you really want to have a positive exsperience with a G then pass on that one. I got my 03 for 22 grand and it only had 33,xxx on the odo. Plus 2 owners points out that the car might be trouble as the second guy found out. Just my duece pesos, G/L though with whatever you decide

Hey,..$17k is not bad for a G. If they can testify by Carfax and vehicle maintenance records that the car is clean, then that's cool man. $17k is a pretty good deal. The only thing I'd be worried about is how hard the two owners pushed the car while they had it.

Have you checked for other G's online (www.autotrader.com)?
Like some other members here say, you might be able to find a newer year for around the same price. I came across an 04 with 45k miles once for about $19,500.. You find that some people just can't or don't want the payments anymore, so they are lookin' to sell for considerably less.

I'd recommend a newer one, but although $17k is pretty darn good for a clean G!

Good luck man!

Note:
I have a 2004 5AT coupe (56k miles) Never had any defective problems besides the typical window motor/door lock (warranty covered). My CD player went out a couple of times, but I think it's because of a rough road I had to travel through on a daily basis for a short time.

Yea I went to see the car today, its good very good. Everything is clean, and records of everything, the fuel hose recall was fixed as well, no other recalls. Its smooth on the gear change everything is pretty much perfect, other than the year and mileage. Tomorrow im going to see one more g35 05 17k with nav and premium package, depending on its condition I will choose from there.

Right now I drive an 93 infiniti j30, so its an upgrade but after the test drive going home, I seem to like my j30 better. Its while, maybe im just not use to the newer car interiors, but my antique somehow felt more comfortable. Anyone have similar experience.

Its probably just because you are used to your car. I'm sure you've driven it for a few years. Maybe its your first car? I will be upgrading from a 93 Accord SE within the next year to a G35/37 Its new, get used it, enjoy it, it could all be your if you spend the money! I'm sure the G your looking at is a little more peppy then your current car?
