Hope to Buy a G35 sedan within a year-have questions...
Im new here but thought you guys could help. My wife and i are looking at buying a car(this would be my car) within a year but can wait longer if needed. I wanted to ask you guys what you think about timing. I would love the to get a G35 sedan with 6spd...
-When do you think the best time would be to buy?
-When the '09 model comes out, do you think it will drop the price of the sedans?
-Also, has anyone taken a look at the new Pontiac G8 GT coming out? It looks like it might be a monster on the road...around the same price too....
I would love your guys input. Thanks in advance!

Best time to buy is when YOU are ready to buy. There will always be specials going on.
Car prices never go down, unless a significant amount of features/performance has been taken away (like the new Mercedes C class)
The G8 is an awesome straightline car. Handling.... is a different story. POWERRRRRRRR

Thanks for the response.
There are quite a few cars i've really been watching. The mazdaspeed3, chrysler300, caliber srt4, and wrx are also what ive been looking at.
The g35 seems to blend luxury and speed really well, but some of these others can make up the difference in their price...
What is everyones opinions on these other cars as well.....

Personally, I'm done with domestic cars due to crappy build quality, cheap interiors and poor reliablilty. They are cheaper, but I've learned that you really do get what you pay for.
The 300 is a little too big and heavy, the others are too small for me. My G sedan is just right.
Prices don't fluctuate too much through the year, but you can see lots of cheaper-priced G's at this time of year due to cars coming leases.

It really depends on what your priority is. If you want to go fast but need some room and don't mind interiors that look a bit cheap next to that of a G, buy the G8 or 300C. If you just want to go fast and are looking for the cheapest speed money can buy, a Caliber SRT-4 or MS3 is for you. Somewhere between the G8 and 300C and the SRT-4 and MS3, you'll find the WRX and the STI as well as the Evo.
In all honesty, to me it sounds like no matter what you buy, you'll be bored with it in 6 months because it's either too slow, or not comfortable enough. I see you as the type to buy a G and six months later, you're trying to get rid of it because "it's too slow." However at the same time I see you buying a MS3 and six months later you're trading it in "because it's fast but not luxurious enough." In the end, what are your priorities? Which of all the cars you've listed can you see in your driveway? Come to think of it, have you even driven any of these cars? Do that first and you'll get a better idea of what you want if you haven't already figured that out.
I dont really feel that these cars are all over the map. They all offer performance at a decent price. They all have a decent size interior and 4 doors. I know that they are FWD,RWD, and AWD but that doesnt concern me too much because I will not be racing these from a standstill. What i want is strong passing power and take offs from a roll.
I agree that the G35 is a cut above in, and that is the reason I am posting on this sight. This is my ideal car. But it all depends on my funds that are available at the time of purchase. Im trying to keep other vehicles in mind incase the G35 is just out of my reach.
Although I would love to be That Guy who gets a new car every 6 months, I dont have that opportunity. My wife and I are looking at having kids in a few years so four doors is important but I still want the power when I get this car out on the road by myself.
I guess what i'm trying to find is the best "runner-up" to the G35 Sedan. Either between the cars I listed above or any others in their price range, what do you guys think?
---Thanks in advance
