Is this a Scam?!? Opinions needed!!

whats up g35driver? i'm actually posting for a friend of mine who is interesed in purchasing a FX35. problem is the seller is selling a 2006 Infiniti FX35 with 15,000 miles for $5000. cheap huh? here is the orginal message.

Hello,

Thanks for your inquiry regarding my beautiful Infiniti ,still available for sale at the $4,795 price. The car is in perfect working condition.
It has no scratches on and hasn't been involved in an accident, no rust. The motor runs very well. The car was always garaged.Mileage: 15,108, Body Style: SUV,Exterior Color: White,Interior Color: Tan, VIN: JNRAS08UX4X109097, Engine: 3.5L V6 PFI DOHC 24V, Transmission: MANUAL.
I decided a lower price because off a divorce settlement..
I am recently divorced and I must share everything with my exwife.
I hope I will find a buyer as soon as possible.
Where are you located?
I will only conclude the transaction through eBay for our own protection.
They act as a neutral third party. If you are still interested please get back to me a.s.a.p
thanks in advanced!

If something sounds too good to be true then usually it is. Another thing, Infiniti never offered the FX in manual transmissions, although I wish they did! This guy isn't from overseas is he? Tell him you want to meet him and do the transaction face to face. This car is listed about $20k too low.

Just sounds too good to be true, but I wouldn't be able to really tell if it is or not. I never knew there were FX's in manual.

So if this is true, I'd first confirm with infiniti that no FX's in a 6mt were ever made, then email the seller asking questions about the MT, like if the shifting is smooth, how many times did the gears grind, etc, and see what his answer is.

100% scam...the buyer is hoping that you are so excited about the price that you will send a check immediately. The use of eBay for protection is just ridiculous. eBay doesn't provide any protection. The only real protection would be an escrow type account. He is hoping that you Paypal a check. But before you get the car, he will mysteriously vanish. This is really someone who is not really up on his scam game.

Another big tipoff is that this car does not exist. There have never been manual FXs built. At least none in the USA. He has never seen the car.

He does give the VIN # check that! I have hurd of people doing this when they find someone cheating on them or something, like lady sells husbands car when she finds out he is cheating. I would just look into it a little better though.

I think it's a stupid reason in any case. If you have to share, why not share more?
