Looking to buy G35 coupe in CT..questions
hi all. im new to the forums here, although i've been watching and reading for a short while. anyways, im looking to purchase an 03-04 G35 coupe M/T, very soon. i have found several, within 75 miles of my location. i may be going to look at an 04, on saturday. follow link here:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...000&cardist=47
my questions are:
-do you think this is a decent price for the car?
it seems a tad high to me, given what else i have seen, although the mileage is low.
-my next dilema, this is going to be my primary, daily driver. i would then have to drive it through the winter, and i am not certain that is a great idea (it being rear wheel drive).
i live in SE Conn., and the winters lately have not been all that bad-just wicked cold. it only snowed up here like twice last year, so i hope its not going to be all that bad this year. i would really have to worry about it from january-march, the rest of the year isnt that bad.
-so, do i buy it, put some decent snows on some 350z rims, and be careful?
or do i get something a bit more practical for winter, ie;small SUV type thing?
unfortunately i cannot afford a G, and a winter beater.
-i did not particularly want to entertain the idea of a sedan X, because i am not crazy about the looks of it..
i figured i would ask some folks who already own these cars. any help/input is appreciated.
thanks,
bryan

RWD with TCS and good snow tires would be fine in most situations.
That is priced pretty high, especially for private party. $18k would be all the money. $17k-$17,500 would be fair. He's probably been offered less than $16k on trade. No seat heaters in Conn? Ouch.

I have something you might be interested in. 2004 Black on black g35 6 speed, spoiler, ful lexhaust, brembos, 20 inch deep dish wheels. 70 k miles.
this car lowered with Tein springs. I go it with the left front end damage, mostly cosmetic repair, and outer apron assembly. Car came from Mobile AL, no rust, no salt, very nice. This is the main reason why I got it. If interested let me know.Iam asking only 16K for it. email me

okay, so the private sale route is not going to work for me, as most sellers do not posses the title to the vehicle. so, i have located one in waterbury, ct at a used car dealer. (i really dont want to buy one from a dealer, but may have to) so here we go:

seems like an OK deal, i havnt actually seen the car yet in person, so nothing is concrete as of yet. i am pre-approved at my bank, so that is all set. i figure i can maybe talk them down a bit...perhaps 17.5k range?? what do you guys think??
i am anxious to go look at it, probably tomorrow evening or early saturday morning. if it goes through, i will need some help with my first mods...hehehe
any ideas? im thinking grill, and front lip.

Still kinda high. Even Edmunds says $17,600 dealer retail, and I never pay Edmunds price. They say $16,300 private party, so I'd say $16,500 is all the money. Don't forget, its nearly winter and you are in CT, so if they don't sell now, they are likely stuck with it till Spring.

k, well, i pulled the trigger today. ill pick it up monday evening. got it for 17.5k. its pretty darn clean, and it actually has brand new blizzaks on it, for whatever reason....kinda weird but it is actually good, because now i don't have to buy winter tires/rims....soooooo, with the money i saved on the sale, i have a couple bucks left for my first mods..let the suggestions begin.
(im really leaning towards gold TE-37's with a nice summer tire, very soon, untill the white stuff arives)
-grill
-intake
-front lip (probly after the winter)
thanks for all the advice guys!!

Keep a set of winter tires/rims and summer tires/rims. It'll make it more convenient to switch back and forth. TPMS will have to be reprogrammed though, unless you can live with the light being permanently on for half the year.

most of my customers just live with the light over the winter they get the winter tire deal package from tire rack with the aps or sport edition wheels and some blizzaks and no tpms.
thanks to all who have been helpful here!! i picked her up last night, and had about an hour drive home, enough time to get aquainted with her. i love it! i am very happy i made this decision.
well, i am contemplating grabbing up some new shoes for her this weekend, there is a guy here selling the exact Volk te37's i want for it. they come with some decent toyo summer tires too...so i'll just run the stock wheels (that already have blizzaks on them), and pop on the Volks in the springtime!
I would love some ideas as far as new grill, and front lip. send em at me!!
excited new G owner,
bryan
