2006 6mt Coupe Pricing?

Hello gentlemen. I've been researching forever on a vehicle and I believe I finally found a good price/value ratio. If you could take a look at this vehicle and see if this is a good price to pay.

http://cardealersinventory.com/inven...ail.php?id=284

I was able to bring it down to $18,695. The only thing that worries me is the warranty/high mileage on the vehicle. Other than that, it has the color combination which I personally believe suits the G35 the best and it's in outstanding condition.

Let me know what you think

18.6k is a fair deal for an 06 Coupe 6MT with 58k mikes & premium package. If the car is in great condition, I say go for it.

58K is nothing on the VQ motor unless it was mistreated.

Agreed,

I think your negotiated price point is respectable. Not a steal but your not overpaying. Your vehicle could be a dangerous one though. It be a 6MT with a rev up motor could be instant failure. Check service records and ask for an oil consumption test. If everything gets a greenlight, you have a nice car my friend.

PM me for any more questions.

is it true that oil consumption problems occur only in 05-06 models? or just MOSTLY in those models?

Well I ended up not getting this vehicle. I flew down to Burbank, California to look at it. I was instantly dismayed by the condition. I was able to bring it down to $17,500, but it did not have the fob keys, had a crack in the windshield, the back bumper had deep gouges, the shifter **** was in bad shape, the inside of the vehicle was pretty dirty, and the radiator plastic cover was missing under the hood.

I ended up getting an absolutely clean, with new tires, still under bumper to bumper warranty, 2005 coupe with 42000 miles for $19,100. I also haggled a gift voucher for $100 in gas. I might have overpayed a little bit, however she was so clean and well taken care of. They had all records and the people who traded it in were in their late 40's.

It has every option except for the spoiler ;(. Thank you for the advice, and a special thank you to Poonattack who helped me out immensely.

Yea I agree with LiLS. That's a beautiful car. Check service records and Carfax and such, but otherwise... go for it.

I talked to them about the OB 05' 6MT they have for sale. They wouldn't lower the price more than $100, which was way more than I was ready to spend. I also think that $24k, even $23k if they went for it, is too much for even a clean 06' especially without navigation. I'm looking at two 07s for less than that.

Good luck, and happy shopping.

Scotts,

Thanks for the input. It's funny you say that because I went into today and looked at the 06 IP coupe and the salesman said nothing lower than 23k. It's clean all the way around, except for some minor curb rash, with only 18,838 miles. I checked for hidden mods but found none other than a 25-35% tint all the way around and maybe a K&N drop-in.

What you guys think? 23k for a clean 06 IP coupe? Sounds kind of high even for Northern California. Damn.

I talked to one of the owners there, Kevin Smith, as I was looking at the 05 OB G35 they have there. I agree with you - their prices are high. Over email, he said they would not negotiate "much". I told him we were about $3k off, and he said keep shopping. I think that IP G you linked is also $3k+ high. There are 07s out there for $21 OBO.

think the IP is a good deal perfect? Dealer is quoting 23k straight up.
