Thanks a lot guys, thank SG.

I will definitely try and get the dealer to change those parts, I will also try to look out for any unusual noises while doing the test drive. Thanks.

The best thread's I found while searching for my car are the "What do you hate about your G" and "What do you like about your G".

Very helpful posts. There are some useless but funny posts in there. But take the time and read it. All. You will appreciate what you learn about the car.

Gas mileage is going to be a bit worse than the sticker shows (which might be a little tough getting used to after a cavalier) and if you're getting the 19" rims your G will undoubtedly chew through rear tires, which aren't cheap. Trunk space leaves a bit to be desired, too.

Good things? Everything else.

pretty much know that driving stick on this wont be as easy as the other cars uv driven stick on, so dont make a thread that driving stick is hard just know its common, gas mileage.. well u dont buy a g for gas mileage, tires well shuda bought a bike if u wanted cheap tires lol, 6mt is a lot of fun, a lot of patience will allow you to get to know the car a whole lot so give it a lot... so conversions will tell me that 80k km will be about 50k miles, well for an 06 thats like 12k miles per year so obviously it was driven a lot, just expect that the 6mt problems with it, and just same as any other car, this was an interesting tip i got, dont know exactly HOW true it is but check the tailpipes if they are BLACK BLACK BLACCCk the car has been driven a lot/hard... ehh but yah, i know i asked the same question you asked theres a lot to worry about as first but it gets better and better, just inspect it as much as you can, see if u can get a pro to inspect it and beyond that its all just luck in a sense

Thanks euro,

Gas Millage does not really matter to me. But you mentioned some really good points to look for, thanks buddy. The car I am test driving on the weekend has 70K KM on it, hopefully it will drive like a dream. If I get a coupe with around 50K KM with the same options, I am looking at around $5K more, so I don't think it's worth it. Thanks for the info guys.

lol, that is funny that you mentioned that. I am in the market of buying a G35 for quite some time now, and I can recognize the sound quite clearly. I love the way they sound, just never experienced that sound from inside. Thanks Euro.

Just picked up my 6mt 06 g35 coupe last month. I had been reviewing this site for a few months and that helped with my decision. Now that I have the car I have been comparing my car to a lot of different things people have posted. One thing I noticed was a rattling or light knocking sound when I turned the car off or when I was idling at stop lights, but someone posted that it was related to the clutch (flywheel I think) and that if I pushed the clutch in it would go away, and it did. So if you hear the same noise there's your answer and it's normal.

Depending on the exterior color you are getting beware of oxidation. It is normal for a lot of vehicles after a certain amount of time goes by especially if the vehicle hasn't been garaged regularly or if the paint hasn't been properly taken care of, but I can say that I have noticed some oxidation earlier than normal on the niss/infin paint jobs. I am sure if the car you are looking at has noticeable oxidation or paint issues you probably won't be getting it anyways.

The first thing you will notice is how loud the cabin is while driving, especially if you have the stock 19's like I do. I have noticed the road noise to be louder at certain rpm levels and mph, mainly around 20-25 mph, but it doesn't bother me much and I plan to use some sound dampening to try to reduce it some. Turn the radio up and you'll be fine. Just understand you are going to be driving a sports car and not a luxury sedan.

Lastly, if everything looks good, buy it. You will grin from ear to ear every time you get in the car.

the paint is really soft and chips/scratches easily, the interior has manyyyy rattles/squeaks, the window motors go out usually around 60k miles, the cd changer/bose headunit has known to go out as well.. if the car is under warranty then you're good for a little while

I'm so late to the party, you beat me to it.

Anyway, tires are not that bad, I'm at 20K on the stockers, they are wearing. Same thing in regards to brakes, many on here stay on them, therefore they prematurely wear out the brakes. Fuel consumption is right at 22MPG, city driving, 26 on the highway. Bose stereo need replacing, that can be a fun, but expensive task. Above all, enjoy and post pics when you do get it.
