I've been lookin into this G recently, I figured it's pretty decent price for the miles and condition (?) I haven't looked at it in person, but I'll be heading down there tomorrow.

My problem though is this... a pretty cool guy on these boards was willing to run a check for me on the car with his outstanding Autocheck subscription, and it turned out the car had 2 owners within first year and half, or said miles. This new finding has me pretty weary, and pretty discouraged about this new car.

What do you think could have spooked both of these owners into selling the car? You really think that the OC issue could have thrown this car back on the lot...twice? Wouldn't at least one of the owners have tried their luck with the an engine replacement?

Being unfamiliar with Infinitis... beyond the OC Issue, I'm already out of Idea's regarding what could be goin on with this coupe... anyone have any ideas?

 

Give us some more details on the car. It's hard to tell without any information, but what you want to do it take the car for a good test drive and also take it to a good private mechanic or body shop for a pre-purchase inspection. Getting some professional input on the car you're looking to purchase is something you should always do.

It sounds like the car is a 2005+. Another thing you should do is take the VIN to infiniti to have them check the service history on the car. Find out if any OC tests have been done and what results have come back. Between the independent inspection and the dealer service records you will have a better understanding of what the story is behind this car.

 

If you're spooked by this cars history find another one. It does sound a little strange that it would have two owners in that short period of time. Look for a low mileage loaded '04 and you won't have any issues with OC or anything else that can't be easily solved....less than 30K miles would be a good find!
