G35 or 350z 2005
bro i would go with a 05 g35 coupe because its like an 06 g35 but different tail lights and 06mt come with hr motors. An 05 350z comes with the same problems the 03 04 350z comes with. if your gonna get a 350z it has to be 06 and up. g35 coupe 05 runs better and overall will give you less problems..

u sure bout that? the 05+ is also a bit heavier than the 03-04. its basically a wash from what ive read. dont think one is faster than the other
Chigga_kidd, you are correct from what I have read. From experience I cannot say because I have a Twin Turbo setup and never drove one without TT. I would say go with the G. You will later wish you did. Longer body base, back seats, butt heat and a trunk. and a coupe is just sexy. If you are going with an HR... cool but newer is also more expensive. I have an 04 and love it just fine, but I have a lot done also. Test drive them both but think about the future useage. Plus will you drift or autox? this is all things you need to think about... I did. I drift my G at every event AZ has had since I started in July.
Are you planning on going with 5AT or 6MT. 05+ 6MT's have the rev-up engine, so I would go that route, either the Z or G.
I'm positive cus my 05 5at whoops on 03 and 04 coupes and ask aaa for a tt set up I rather be built than bought it's hard to critisize when you haven't driven your car stock but it's all good.. Like I said go with the g

First of all, no G35 coupe has ever had an HR motor. ONLY the 07+ Zs and the 07+ G35 Sedan has the HR. The 05 Z doesn't have the same the problems as the 03/04. They fixed a bunch of them including the windows (most common) How can you even say the G coupe runs better and will give less problems? They both have the same amount of problems, and will BOTH probably need an engine replacement due to oil consumption.
As others have said, do you need a backseat? Going from a G sedan to a Z is a pretty squishy change. I feel super enclosed in my Z after driving my G. Still love it to death though.
I agree to go and drive them both and see what you think.
Also as said above if you think you may need the backseats and trunk at some point (you know that will happen, then the G is the better choice)
+1 for the 6MT Rev Up engine in either one you choose...
