manual or automatic.

Is there a noticeable difference in the performance? Resale effected with a manual? Higher cost of maintenance? More fun? 0-60 times similar? Shopping for an 05 or 06 coupe. Input would be appreciated.

If you have to ask, get the automatic.

Get what you want. It's your car. Resale is gonna suck down the road no matter what trans you have. The ,majority of this board loves the manual trans, but there are plenty of people who don't even know how to drive stick as well.

There is no shame in driving an auto. If you want to shift get a stick. If you don't,,get a auto

Truer words were never spoken. Once someone learns the fun, dedication, and addiction that an MT provides, you're set for life.

Every person that drives an MT can drive an AT, but the reciprocal is not true for most ppl.
Why buy a product that has been made to appeal to the masses (you know, women), instead of the elitists that are those that can control a clutch.

And most MT coupes I've seen have Brembos. They have a good reputation and history behind them, and the gold calipers are oh so pretty.

MT's are also harder to find. When I was looking for mine in all of So Cal, I only found 3 MT coupes on AutoTrader.com, in all of So Cal. Pretty crazy huh.
AT's are overly plentiful, good luck 'not' finding the perfect one for you.

Remember back when the MT was called a "Standard Transmission"?
All vehicle models are sold with AT, however MT's are not available on many models. AT is the new "Standard" Transmission.

Worldwide: 70% of vehicles sold are "standard transmission".

AT cars are mainly sold to the American and Canadian market. I guess that's where the "Americans are Lazy" crap fits in? lol
