New dillemma g35 vs RSX type S

i can't really say which is more reliable, my g needed a new motor because it was consuming oil, but my rsx also consumed oil like I said before, the difference would be that the G actually had bad compression where as the rsx's compression was still good. I had my share of problems with the rsx but most of them were abuse related, i wasnt exactly nice to it(8000 rpms with 4 miles on it..lol).
the only problems it had that werent abuse or mod related were water in the taillights(ended up getting 3 replaced under warranty) and a bad window regulator. 3rd gear would pop out from time to time, not sure if that was my fault or not
ive had the G from 67k to 77k and it hasnt had a problem aside from the new motor and a creaky drivers seat. the drivetrain of the rsx seemed a bit more fragile, but idk, never really beat on the G quite as hard
as far as mpg I got 21-22 city 28-30(once hit 31 but my brother was driving..lol) hwy in the rsx and 17-19 city 24-25hwy in the g

I agree, it's nearly always cheaper to keep your current car than take the loss switching to another, paying taxes on it, inspection bs, etc.
That being said, I like both cars. The RSX is more reliable and probably better built overall, if it's anything like all the other Honda's I've driven. But the G35 looks better and has more power. So it's really a toss-up of what traits you like most in a daily driver.

im not so sure if the rsx is more reliable or not
if you look at consumer reports I don't think it did much better
as far as the engine goes though the k20 can take a serious pounding, people just slap turbos on and run 350-400whp on stock internals..i think there was some turbo rsx with 250k on it or something
also in the fun to drive category it is hard to say which is better, obviously the G has rwd which is a big plus with cornering, but its also 600lbs heavier and letting the rsx sit at 7000rpms and ripping around back roads is pretty amusing as well...idk I say get the rsx since its newer and not automatic..lol

When I was car shopping, I recall the insurance cost for an RSX was significantly higher than the G. I was already being treated as a ricer for driving a stock R18 Civic Coupe
, I just figured I'd get more of the same with an RSX. Pay more for that? No Thanks. Heck, my co-worker (RSX owner) put it this way: "the RSX is just an expensive Civic vs the G, which is a 350z with a backseat."
