its hard to pay a g off and be in college at the same time. the best thing man is to just save up some money so you don't have to finance all of it at least. i couldn't afford one when i got my is300 and just kept saving and instead of selling my is300 it got totalled but between insurance paying for that car and the money i had saved i walked in there with cash and im only 23. im loving not having payment either cause now i can mod monthly without having to worry about the finance bill and these cars are pricey if you start having the issues. but good luck on your research man! they are fun cars!

I just turned 23 a few weeks ago and purchased an 05 G35 coupe with 72k miles for under $15k. The key is definetely being patient and looking around. If you live in a small town (I'm from Indiana), it's definetely a lot harder to find ANY G35's, let alone one for a good deal. Also, I saved up enough over the last year of being out of college that I paid for the car with cash. I wouldn't recommend financing.

Best of luck! Be patient with it and you'll find a deal. It took me about 3-4 months of looking. Don't be in a rush!

+1.

Take your time, I practically stole mine, a 1 owner 04 Coupe 43,000mi thats a gem inside and out. Diamond in the rough take your time, you will find it. I drove 4 others before selecting this one. My shopping process was almost 3 months.

Insurance shouldn't be too much of a problem because you can always get the minimum.. liability only and you can put it under one of your parent's name's so insurance wouldn't be bad. Don't take a loan out though.. you'll end up having to deal with alot more than what you bargained for.

Yeah, shop around - then buy mine. I'm a 23 yr old moving to NYC and selling my G.
It's an '03 G35 6MT Coupe. 128k miles
I'm only asking $12,500 and that's because it comes with a $0 deductible warranty that covers major things ranging from electrical to A/C to the whole engine itself.
Without warranty I would price it around $11k.

I accept with information: Alot of owners here say avoid the 05-06 manual transmission REVUP G35s due to an oil consumption TSB, so that may sway your options a bit if you're wanting an 05.

some states require that a financed car have full coverage and liability only pays for the other guy's car. what branch are you in? at 20 i'm guessing you're not higher than an E4. insurance will be HIGH for a 20 year old and be wary of those places outside of post that finance E1 and up. Send me a PM I'm an E7 in the Army and I'd hate to see a young service member make a bad financial decision.

you can definately find some decent deals. Mine was for sale in the marketplace section. A sedan for $10,000 w/ 70k mi. I got someone hopefully coming to upstate ny for it in a week and a half. There are great deals here on the site and most people are enthusiasts so their cars are in good condition. Just my two cents.

I am 20 also and just bought a 04 Coupe. I suggest financing and make sure to take your time, i had to look at atleast 4 others before i found mine.

I wouldn't recommend craigslist.org but i found mine on their from a private seller. 11 Grand, an 04 coupe with 100k Miles and 3 Performance Mod's with Nismo Front end and Skyline Emblem'd Out. (i don't think the guy knew the whole value of the car)

Insurance is costing me more then the car payment though (If you got a clean driving record then your good though)

You might be lucky like me though. Just make sure you always look at everything b4 you commit.
