Need some convincing..
Maybe not at all!
But i am currently stuck on purchasing a G. I have 2 other cars i have in mind that i would like to get which are either a Subaru WRX, or a VW GTI...as of now, i am leaning towards the G by far so i may not need convincing.
What my question is, i am willing to spend $15,000, maybe some more, on a car and i want to know what year Gs should i be trying to get??
A manual is a must, also a coupe. AWD would be a nice since i am (unfortunately) a resident of Buffalo NY. RWD would definitely not work well in the snow, especially the hills, but if i get a nice enough G, i will definitely put that thing away for winter, so that issue is solved.
Since i am most likely going to get the v35 generation G, what are the known issues and how big of an issue are they really?
Any suggestions?
May i also add that i am only 20 years old...
Thanks

Coupes do not come in AWD. For 15k you might find a higher mileage car or an older one. I saved and went for the 06. Newer interior and built in blu tooth. Also comes with awesome headlights. Your best bet is to drive all three cars. I am sure you will love one of them. Good luck!

I sold my 2005 G35 with 60k miles for 15.5K. Loaded with navi/sport package/wing/19". It was even dropped and slightly modded lol.
The person who bought mine got one hell of a deal, and I'm sure you'll find some if you wait.
As for the Subaru WRX. It's a totally different car. I would get the G35 over the WRX anyday, unless its the WRX STi ofcourse.
The VW GTi is a nice car, but the G35 looks a whole lot better. You'll enjoy the G35. I already miss mine. In fact, I miss it so much I'm planning to get a 350z to daily. (I would get a g35 again, but since I have the evo, I don't need the backseat option in the G35.)

I do love how appealing the G looks and that's what took me over. GTIs are so popular around here which is why i am leaning furthest from that...
What do you mean by this back seat option?

When I first bought the G35, I was deciding between the G35 and 350z. I chose the G35 because it had the back seats. But now that I have an evo that seats 5, I can get the 350z. Which I previously wasn't considering because it only has 2 seats.

I really don't know. The STi and Evo are very similar. 4 Doors, 4 cylinder turbos, rally cars, awd, etc. The only deciding factor between these 2 cars are just looks imo. Whichever one looks better to you is the one you should get, because other than that, the cars are super similar.
I prefer the evo over the sti. Another reason might be because my friend is buying an STi soon, so I decided to pick up the evo, instead of us 2 having the same car.
It depends what you want, usually evos can make and hold more power than the STi's.
I miss my G35 though, which is why I'm planning to get a G35 or a 350z again. It was such a fun car lol.

IDK if you have already have the car but.... I had a wrx, and now a G35. I would say buy a G. dont get a stupid VW WTF.. sorry hahah. but since u live in the snow IDK i loved the WRX in the snow!! sickest car u will ever own in the snow. plus It had a opening for my snow board. I would go with a STI or an EVO for speed. BUT if u want the G, its a LUXURY then SPORTS car keep that in mind!!
Driving in the snow, is different than driving in the snow where i live. No possible way snow tires on a RWD would get me up the hill i live on.
I would definitely like some other previous WRX owners to tell me how much more they love their G opposed to the WRX!!

well i have an STi and my G coupe.. both stick.. they are totally different and that is why i have both. STi - turbo and 4 doors, engine mods, tons of power, a heck of a time, the girl loves it.. G- timeless lines, leather, comfort, turns necks, exterior mods, great for going out in, the girl loves it...
It's a pretty tough decision. But for your situation described in OP i would say WRX.. The G is my baby and it NEVER sees rain, let alone snow!! I just couldn't do that to it! haha. And geez, NY? winters are gonna be insane. Get the WRX. Why put a beautiful G through that punishment...
