hit it? 2003 diamond, 20k miles all options. 6mt $29k

not sure if I should pull the trigger or not.

Local Diamond graphite 6mt all options (including nav + aero) 20k miles, new tranny/clutch from dealer, I've negotiated to $29k. Wheels have a bit of curbing, but car has new tires. Brakes at 50% rear, 30% front I know it's not the lowest price in town, but is it reasonable?

thanks in advance - I could be amongst y'all soon.

Im pretty sure you could do better......for a few grand more you can get a great deal on any new 04 leftovers.....and have no worries.

I'd spend a little more and try to get an 04 also. No curbing, full warranty, new brakes, no or very few boogers, farts, etc.

through a 3rd party dealer, not factory dealer. So, I think of it more as a private sale. I should probably just sit tight for a little bit and let a better deal reveal itself.

i'd say pass. I don't really trust dealerships doing a 100% correct re-work on a tranny/clutch replacement. Find a new 04 or just sit tight and keep looking.

for comparison's sake

I bought mine for 27k. Had 5053 miles on it, and is a 2003 model. Got it about 2 months back. Has all options except nav, 6MT, Aero, DG/Graphite, Premium Package. No scratches, dents, 80-90% tires left, car was babied. Driven by a Doctor in a small town who decided he wanted a Lexus SUV instead. Found it on ebay...

29 seems awfully high to me based on that. Here is another one that ended a few weeks back... my dad wants one now too hehehe so I am watching for him. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
You can see that it went for a good price too. Hard thing on ebay is to find ones with no or at least a low reserve. So many of them have reserve prices set way too high and the cars don't bring that much.
One word of advice if you go the ebay route... don't give any money until you see the car. I try to make sure I can take off work immediately after the end of the auction and go get it the next day...that way if you don't like it, you don't buy it. Worst the guy can do is give you a bad feedback then.

I dunno, 29k sounds decent. I picked up my '03 a couple of days before Thanksgiving for 30k, it was an off-lease car from Georgia with 18k on it. Laser Red, 6MT, Nav, Aero, Premium, and the tires have 50%+ tread on them still.

KBB and Edmunds both put its street value at over $33k for my area (Chicagoland). Factor in the facts that my wife really loves the red (I would have prefered black) and that it was the only red one to be found in the area, and that I had them throw in a 60k/4yr extended factory warranty (added to the balance of the original warranty) and I think I got a good deal.

Could I have gotten the *exact* same car cheaper on eBay or private party? Maybe. But I would have had to wait for one to pop up. And it wouldn't have come with the extended warranty.

Even used, these are $31k - $32k cars.

It's a good deal if you're happy with the car. Now get off the internet and go drive that darn thing.

thats overpriced. Its normal, but still overpriced. Try to work them down a little bit so you are actually getting a deal.
