What is a low miles 04 6MT really worth? KBB, Edmunds, NADA don't agree
I have been trying to sell my 04 DG 6MT coupe for a bit now. It has everything but NAV with 38K miles on it. Clean car fax. The standard couple of rock chips on the front.
Here is what has me confused. There is a huge difference between the different pricing folks.
KBB priv party good condition $16.6k.
Edmunds $12.2k
NADA clean trade in $15.6k
That's a pretty healthy delta from one to another. The only place I'm finding actual sale prices is eBay which seem more in line with the Edmunds numbers.

This is what bugs me about people who know nothing about economics (not necessarily refering to you OP). First, it's always worth the highest a random person would pay for it, but you never know who that person is, or when that person wants your particular car. Because of that reason, you have to look at what the market is demanding, and go from there.
I'm super bugged because I live in the Philadelphia area, and within a 100-150mi radius, there are a ton of auto 03-05 G coupes out there, many of them priced absurdly high given their conditions and milage. People ALWAYS tend to overvalue something that they own and put time into, but that doesn't mean it's gonna sell for what that person wants. I've seen a ton of these overvalued cars sitting for months now, and I'm sure the owners have no idea why, bc they think their cars are the **** and they don't understand market dynamics.
So OP, best thing to do would be not be to look at what prices are in your area, but rather look at what similar cars are actually selling for, assuming you want to get rid of it relatively soon. Of course you can always hold on to it for a while and pray, and it could work out for you, but gl with that.
As for a non-rant answer to your question, if you were on the east coast where I am, and wanted a sale sometime soon, I would look at 14k at very best, but most likely about 13-13.3k.

Good car fax, LOW miles > 45,000 and below, as much information as you can muster up about the machine, and do you feel good about the purchase? You know if you feel good about something, No doubts before purchasing. I bought a 2005, 2.5 years ago, for $18,500, it was a one owner had 38,000 miles on it. Love the hell out of it, and have enjoyed modifiying it to boot! Happy buying

You may think I'm crazy but...
I bought my G35 4-dr from Carmax a couple of years ago. I looked on their in store web browser and located mine in Alabama. The car had all the information you would ever need, and 20 or so pictures to look at of the car, in and out. They shipped it into the dealer i was located, in Atlanta. I was supprised it didn't cost me a dime. Some of the cars on there you have to pay a shipping cost; it's all in how confident you are in thinking you found the right one. With that said there is no obligation to buy even if you have it trucked in. Is there a Carmax around you?

So let me get this straight, you paid what... 38K new for the car, you've taken good car of it and hardly even driven it and now you want to sell it but your worried about a 2 or 3k difference in selling price? I mean you've already halved its value since buying it, if you have to have something new sell the damn thing for 14k and stop whining!
