Im looking at getting a 2004 G35 Coupe, Automatic, with 64k miles on it, Power everything, Nav system, Tinted windows. The seller is asking for $18,500 because its in PERFECT condition. And from the looks of the pictures, its flawless, however Im going to give it a really good once over when I see it.
Im curious on what you guys think the car is max worth at that age, I did a kbb search and it came up at. $15,595 for excellent condition. However I dont see anything under 80k miles and somewhat beat up for that price, it seems most are prices for POS at 13k to really nice at 22k that seems to be the range.
Lastly, Are there any major items to really pay attention to when giving it the once over before I buy? So far from research, this is my list... (please add to my list)
1)Axle Click when Accelerating
2)Electrical components: Windows, Door locks, Head Unit, Speakers, Seat Warmers, Seat Adjusters, Mirrors, CD Player.
3) Checking for oil in the engine bay etc.
4) Window seals, trunk seals, Door seals etc.
anything else?
Thanks a lot for any help someone may offer. This will be my first G35

For me that is a bit high of an asking price yes granted it is low mileage for its year.
I bought mine a year and half ago for around 15thou 2005 at dg 52thou miles with no problems at all... Fingers crossed..
Buying a car requires patience...
Thats my opinion

Im guessing I can slap 16k in $100 dollar bills in front of their face and they will take it... Maybe in 20's just to add bulk to the wad haha

i think the price is a bit high for that. you could get an '06 for that much with the same mileage

Wow, that does sound high. It's funny, when selling a car you always things it's worth so much because you've taken such good care of it, but when buying a car you just expect it to be taken care of for the average price. I couldn't see going more than $500 above KBB's "Excellent" condition price at that mileage and that is if all maintenance is done with records and receipts and the car looks almost flawless.
Good luck! Be prepared to walk away and try not to get caught up in the emotion of wanting the car. I know easier said than done.

yeah with that high of a budget you really should go for an 05-06!
Yeah I was thinking that, Around my area I cant seem to find the perfect one, this one is the closest so far, and female owned, I dunno.. Im looking for black interior, with the nav, and the spoiler.. under 70k miles, for around 16ish... These are the ones that Iv found that Im considering looking at.

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac...863193500.html (No nav, No spoiler)
http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/2837409200.html (no nav, no spoiler, Kid owned)
The 04 seems, IMO the best taken care of, im waiting on better pictures of the 2nd one listed as I sit here.
Im starting a job on monday and will be putting like 150miles a day on the car, Right now I drive a lifted chevy silverado with 125k miles that gets like a whopping 9 miles a gallon, thats why im in a bit of a rush.

i would definitely go for the second 06. the 04 seems way overpriced and the last one is so shady LOL

When I talked to that guy, he seemed a little shady though, we'll see what the pics say, plus it has no nav, or spoiler, which I guess I can buy a spoiler myself, but what threw me off was that he doesnt have a key fob, I thought the 06 has a no key start? I dont know the technical term.. keyless start.. I think maybe he replaced the ignition then or something.

its an option, not all 06's get it. as for the key fob, you can always use that as a excuse to lowball him

haha.
well yea, if you absolutely need a new g fast i understand but the best thing to do is to wait and be patient. a great deal will eventually come by.

I wouldn't pay that much. Last year around here there was an '03 with 35k on it for $13,000. I should've picked it up but I hadn't sold my other car at the time. I wouldn't pay any more than $14,000 for that car if it were me. Even though the miles are low there's still probably rust underneath such as the exhaust and suspension components. If you're going to spend $18,000 on a car there are probably some 2007 G's with 70-80k miles. The price of that car is waaaayyy too high. And remember mileage isn't everything. If you spend a ton of money on an old car with low miles you'll put 40k on it and it will suddenly be worth half the price and you'll be out $8,000. If you buy one with high miles and put 40k on it you'll probably lose half that in depreciation. Just something to think about.
Im going to call and cancle that 04 to look at, ill tell her i wouldnt pay more than 14.5 for it, and see what she says haha, and the 06 just sent me the pics, the front end is all messed up like he ran into his garage or something...... the search continues. lol
