New Member, futur Owner of a G35 Coupe ;)
Hi there,
Name is Moussa, 18 and for my second car, I'm trying to buy a G35 Coupe
First of all, this is not one of those " My dad will buy me this... " threads.
I might be 18, but I pay everything by myself. I bought my first car, a 2006 Honda Accord Coupe about 6 months ago and since I have some cash, I'm upgrading and getting a G35.
I really like it. I went to see some of them and I'll just trade my car in and add $2000 or $3000.
The thing is it's kind of impossible to find one under 100 000 miles :/
I live in Reston, Virginia and the lowest miles available is like 98K miles... Which is not bad at all for a 2004 Model ( I am trying to get a 2004 or 2005 model )
Now I was wondering, do you guys have any advice when buying a G35 Coupe? Some stuff to check? To make sure that they've been done? Any known issues on the car?
Is the V6 Engine reliable? No transmission issues or whatever?
And last question, what color? Black or White? I can't make my mind :/
We don't have a lot of dust in Virginia so I thought of taking a Black one and a membership at FlagShip CarWash which is about $44 a month for an unlimited number of visits
But I also like the white one :s
Thanks for reading

I'll look for "brembos" since I don't know what that is ^^
Saw it!
Why are the brembo brakes so special?

If you haave a car paid off, and cash in the bank just keep it in your savings as your car will become a money pit as you find out previous owner didn't do this, or did that and so on. Also your insurance from a honda to a G will go pretty high.
Also with a somewhat decent performance car(altho slow) the G after 8 years would more then likely be in some terrible shape, paint and everything as most owners don't take good care of cars.
So unless you can get one with full records and everything run away.
Seriously if you're 18, and "know" cars asking what's special about an OEM BBK(Big brake kit) is a bit silly. Also with a car in its 100k's you have no idea what previous owners have done to it, how its been taken care of, and how its been maintained.

I never said that I " knew " about cars, though. I just never heard of brembos. I bought my first car cash and that's what I'm willing to do with the G35.
For the insurance, I did a quote with my company. I am currently at $151/month and with the G35 and a $1000 Deductible for Collision, $50 for Comprehensive, the insurance will be about $270 wich is not that bad because some are paying around $500. I'm taking the $1000 deductible in case the car is totaled some day. I'm not a "big" speeder though, so I hope it'll never happen

Thanks for advice
Im 17 in richmond, VA and i just bought my own coupe 3 months ago from stafford VA (private owner)
only 45k miles
i searched for a good 8 months for my g35, it takes time but it will come. Don't buy a g35 with 100k miles look for one in the 40k-75k miles with a good owner. Also if you can find one with the 19" rays (sport wheels) that would be great they look awsem with those wheels. if you get one with a good owner, and keep good care you should have no problems. Gas will feel like hell if your coming from a honda but its so worth it. Gs have a reputation for great driving experience. look on websites like auto trader, cars.com, craigslist etc... good luck. Also theres a northern Va G35 group/crew on this website join them and ask any of them if they have any for sale or know of any
good luck
