Need advise - About to buy 2004 G35 with low miles

Need advise - About to buy 2004 G35 with low miles

Hello, I'm new to these forums and want to get some advise on a G35 I'm thinking of buying.

2004 G35 2rd 6dps 20k miles $17500

Car is in very good condition all-around, except for a few paint chips and whatnot, no major damage anywhere. I saw it today; its a 1-owner, the owner seemed legit however when we were discussing payment and I offered to give a certified check, he said that he prefers all cash instead. He also suggested to meet in a mall parking lot instead of at his house, which we did. I drove the car, everything seems OK. I then checked the VIN on Autocheck and it came back 100% clean, and the town noted in Autocheck matched to where the car is. The guy also had a Carfax for the car, and it was also clean.

1 - Could there be anything wrong with the car because it was sitting some time in his garage? He even mentioned that the battery died at one point because it was for so long, and this was in the winter. Apparently this was his secondary car, which explains the 20k mileage. If I were to buy, should I replace something, like liquids, or whatever else may have deteriorated because of sitting there?

2 - It is OK that someone would rather ask for all cash instead of certified check?

Looking to get some advise and hear some horror stories if any.

Paying in cash is a thing of the past... people don't show up to car dealers with briefcases full of cash, they bring cashiers checks. People who demand cash want no trail... if he's going thru a divorce that'd make sense lol

price sounds great for the miles though, where'd you find out about the car?

nothing wrong with cash. maybe he doesnt want to report the full amount there could be many reasons. sounds like a steal i would get it for sure

Unfortunately the seller changed their mind and backed out of the sale. Sadface.

Found this goodie on Autotrader.

Thanks for the input guys.

It's hard to find such low milage G35's but I just bought mine with 59,000 miles and can't be happier.
I'd say keep looking, as winter hits the Northeast the prices will drop drastically in our region, could be a great time to steal one of these.

My 07 is FS with 48K miles for not much more than what you were about to pay and I don't care if you pay me in $1 bills.
