Im a nooby aswell, getting my G in January.
Honestly, it looks like a great deal. I'm jealous right now. If you see the prices here in California you'd be greatfull.
I found an 04 with 80k miles for $14,000 which I'm sure is way above bluebook. Im lucky to find an 04+ above $11,000
I'd take your deal in a second. Good luck.

Damn :O thats pretty pricey.. But thanks for the information lets hope everything runs and drives good

Also ask the owner what was damaged and rebuilt. Usually though you want to stay away from rebuilt cars. They are never the same...

So youre saying i shouldnt waste my time checking it out
For a few more thousand you can get something with a clear title. You could buy that rebuilt car if you don't ever plan on selling it anywhere near what you paid for it. Rebuilt cars have been discussed many times on these forums and it often comes down to hit or miss. What type of damage and how the car was fixed which are all unknown at this point.Originally Posted by patricksz

i agree, stay away from rebuilt. Unless your absolutely sure there is no frame damage. A car with frame damage even repaired will never handle as well as it did from the factory.
"clear rebuilt title" hahah
yeah i'd stay away from rebuilt titles unless it's your track car or something. you might be looking for a couple of months to come up on a good deal. just be patient

I have the Diamond Graphite and love it - that's a heck of a price if it was only body damage.
Are you able to pull a carfax and see what that comes up with atleast before going to look?
See if the guy will actually give you the VIN#.

Don't trust carfax. When I went car shopping I used autocheck. Some cars had a clean carfax but in reality were not clean at all. Some had been in accidents. Carfax is good for maintenance records but autocheck is better for accidents.
Get a clean title car because you will eventually sell it or trade it in later on. Having a rebuilt title will make it harder to sell down the road.
