Personal Opinions

Hey everyone,
So I just sold my 91 crx si that was my baby for the past few years to get into something a little newer and nicer and start a new project. I was very sold on the 05-06 g35coupe 6mt until I have been doing the reading on all the OC problemsinvolving the rings not seating right. I was just curious to everyone who owns the 05-06 coupe 6 mt how they like it what to look for and if its worth the investment?

Thanks for the input,
Connor

my 05 6mt has no issues.

If you can find one for a good deal, I say go for it.

Red is a nice color. Silver is everywhere, as well as black.

A well taken care of red car will look great.

That is true silver is very common. I'm not sure how i feel about the beige interior but it is still very nice. The plans right off the bat would just be tint, coilovers and maybe some wheels. This is the local red one.

Wow. That is a nice G with very low miles. I'd go for it.

I've got a red 05 and it's a real head turner. Infinity and Nissan have a couple standard problems but their mostly cosmetic i.e paint being weak, and motors tending to go bad. But the motor is overall mechanically sound. I've had mine for around 6months bought it at 75k and already at 85k and I've never been left high or dry stranded

I've got an 05 6MT that just started showing OC problems at around 95k. I've put about 40k on the car since I got it a couple years back and even though I'm looking at a rebuild or new motor I don't regret it. Stuff happens, just make sure you either get a warranty or have a budget for rebuilding and plan for the worst. It's hit or miss so you might be fine, but have a contingency plan ready. Good luck with the search, hope you find a good one.

You can always go with an automatic. Those won't see the OC problem. I've been pretty happy with my G.

My 06 G coupe 6mt has not OC issues, Im at 84k miles and I track the car a few times a year.

Forums are great and all, but they skew perception on topics. You only hear the bad news. The vast majority of people out there have no problems with their cars, but because 20 people on a forum complain about OC problems, all of a sudden it's a rampant problem, yet the other 1 million other revup vq's out there are fine, so they have no reason to come in here and boast of how great their engine is unless they're a douchebag. I say get it, but don't expect maintenance and parts to be as cheap as a honda.
