Infiniti noob has questions! 2005G35x (reliability)
Hi everyone!
I'm very new here and semi-new to Infinitis in general. An old friend (who I'm not longer in contact with) ahd a '05 G35x sedan and I remember loving it. Well, my girlfriend is looking for a new car and wants me to pick it out. Our budget is around 12k and I've found some used AWD G35's in our price range, however the miles are generally at around 75-85k. I don't know a lot about Nissan/Infiniti engines as I'm more of a Ford guy (leave me alone
) - Is this a lot of miles for an Infiniti? How long do the engines/tranny generally last for these? We'd like the car to hold-out for about 6 years when my gf completes dental school. I've seen a lot of these with 150k+ miles on them, so I'm assuming that's a good sign?
BTW - I also found an '07 M35 with 90k miles for $9.5k from a dealership... This thing is either stolen or missing an engine right?
Thanks in advance guys!

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

The Gs are pretty reliable. One major issue is oil consumption on the 05-06 sedans and 05-07 coupes with the manual transmission. Stick with an AT and you'll be fine. A lot of our members have over 100K miles, myself included, on their cars so you should be able to keep it on the road for a long time provided it was well taken care of and continues to be. 75-85K is just getting broken in.
