Prices all over the place?
Prices all over the place?
Greetings,
First post here. Ive been researching the G35 in consideration for my commute car. My commute is about 15 miles a day, total, so not too bad. I would like to see if I could get some opinions or input from you G35 pros on the current pricing Im seeing.
First, Im concentrating on the 05-06 G35 coupe. As low miles and as clean an interior as I can get. I dont like the heavily modded ones. I can work on cars, not that I would do all the work but I know what Im doing under the hood.
So to the question, why are so many of the 8 year old G35's listed at 20k? This seems crazy to me. Then you have a handful that are listed around 10-12k? Lets take out the dealers because thats usually due to them financing. Im seeing these prices with private sellers. So what gives? Ive gone through a few cars recently and dont think Ive seen such drastic variances in price on other makes and models.
Any ideas or input on why this is, or some set of options Im missing?
Heres some examples
-Used 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe 89,000 miles listed at $22,500
-Used 2005 Infiniti G35 w/ Premium Package 75,000 miles listed at $16,000
-Used 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe 82,000 miles listed at $13,500
They all look like solid cars with records etc.
Thanks in advance,
Dustin

Appreciate the reply. These are all examples of g35's within 200 miles of my house. What would cause such variance in stock G35's? Thats what Im stuck on? I know the obvious, condition / options etc, but nothing seems to justify this variance?

I can't answer your question, but you are making me feel better about my dealership buy of a one-owner 2006 G35x, 73.5K, all options except nav and satellite, all service records on schedule with dealer with 75K service already performed plus four new tires and 4-wheel alignment (200 miles old).
$14.2K one month ago

Bought 2006 G35 Sedan 73K Miles with Navigation, Rear spoiler at 14k.
Agreed price was 13.5 K.
Stealership did add some more to the original accepted quote.
My bad I was so excited and signed the contract without seeing the numbers.
Always get the insurance outside if you don't have another car. I lost about 180 on that.
Had to change the tires as the ones came on the car is real crap.
I would say don't worry about listed price at the dealer. My car was listed at 16,990, there is so much of mark-up on the retail price listed.
Get guidance from forum, nada, kbb. Hope it helps.

If you're looking at low mileage G35s that are in absolute mint condition, garage kept and had their service before it was due they're going to cost you high $$....but SLICK isn't for sale!

I have a question for you that you might be able to answer. Do G35s that are in absolute mint condition, garage kept and had their service before it was due tend to snap/crackle/pop.

Op to help you answer your questions about price variations. You need to get the underlying history of the vehicle starting with autocheck/carfax. You might be comparing a wrecked or frame damage vehicle to a clean vehicle. Maintenance records along with paint condition and interior conditions will also have a factor in price.

Some sellers think the car is worth more than it is. I know someone who got a new fully loaded 06 and paid 42k+ for it. On top of that he agreed to 18% interest so his final price after 5 years was over 60k...so if you are that person than 20k seems like a reasonable selling price.
So I guess its back to what the owner *thinks the car is worth and not reality. I just looked at a 2004 posted this morning with 80K and the private seller wants 15K firm. Oh well its just a pateince game I guess. What Im hearing is that Im not missing some crazy differences or options with the G35 its just seller perception. Plus the occasional blip on the radar where someone sees one go way over blue book.
Thanks guys
