04!! Ftw!

For real tho. 04 for the win. Better spoiler, more tq, don't have to buy the mrev2 when you get a spacer ($500 savings!), much much smaller chance of getting an oil burner AND you can get the Brembos. You can always buy the 06 lights. They're plug n play.

I have an 04 6MT that consumes oil. Right now I add a quart between changes (probably need to bump that up to 2 quarts). I noticed that my tailpipes have a black coating around the ends that doesn't come off. That might be one thing you can check. Don't forget about the valve covers leaking oil into the spark plug area. That's a common problem as well and one that I'm also experiencing.

ive been looking for an 04 as well - but the oil consumption issue, can you just keep topping up in between oil changes? or does it need to be addressed?

You SHOULD fix it, but you can just add oil.

Ok, if it starts with burning oil 1 quart every 2k how long until it becomes chronic and you'll have to change the pistons and rings. Essentially - how fast do the rings wear to the point where they have to be changed - normal driving
