Help! Looking to buy a G Coupe and need some advice
Hey all! I'm new here but have fallen in love with the G Coupe's and am looking to get one in the next week or so. After doing some reading I saw all the problems with the 05/06 rev up motors on the coupes and sedans with the 6MT (which I will only buy a manual). Given that info I've relegated my search to only 03/04. Is this the right thing to do or will most of the blocks on the 05/06's have been replaced at this point? I like the dash and the few changes they made in '05 but if the motor is a ticking time bomb I'd rather get an older one that I know will last.
Any help advice for this newb?
Here's a couple that I'm looking at:

Thanks!

What kind of problems are you talking about. If your talking about the oil consumption it was prominent from 05-07 in general. But that is not to say other years did not have it. Not all of them have it. If you don't care much for the updated interior and motor then you can get an 03/04. Eitherw way any history and maintenance records will be helpful from the seller. You can also pull records with the VIN with Infiniti if there are any.
Yeah I was talking about the oil consumption and engine rebuild. I found an awesome '03 fully loaded with 51k miles (the 1st "private party" link above). Just had it checked out by a mechanic (buyers inspection) and it passed with flying colors and should be picking it up this week. Just need to get the check from the bank
