Best model year to buy?
Hey everyone! I just recently sold my Audi (B5 A4, big turbo, built motor, 450awhp) and am looking to buy a 6spd G35 Coupe. I've done some reading on the changes between the model years, but I'm still not sure what year is best. Any tips? I do not care about the navi system at all. I have $9000 cash in hand, so I will have to borrow some to get most model years around here, and id prefer not to borrow a lot.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I was an Audi owner too.l had an a6 quattro. I think the awd of audi is better. But the torgue n hp of Infiniti is awesome! I have a 05 G35X no navi dont need it. Do you want 5at or stick? I love my x! You can find some low mile 05-06 G35s. Price around $14-16000. Infiniti is like Audi you want it maintained check the service records. I was lucky found one withall service records since new! And it rides and handles like new! Good luck with your hunt from a former Audi man!

Ahhh.
I'm looking for a 6spd, don't do automatics. They are picky? I've heard these Infiniti motors are more durable. Surely they will be more durable then my 1.8T making triple it's recommended power output.
I want a RWD, couldn't even tell you why, just driven AWD's all my life, want something different that isn't a FWD. Plan on putting Nokian Hakka 4 studdeds on it for winter.
14-16 is definitely too much, I'm maxing out at 12. I'm a student, I don't need a giant loan that takes my whole pay checks! The reason I was drawn to the G35 is it's beautiful body style, having rear seats despite being a coupe (what drove me away from a 350Z), and the 300ish stock hp out of a NA motor. I've raced these cars on the drag track, and my A4 got smoked until I hit high boost, and even then it was a lot of catching up to do.
What's the weight distro like? And how does the body flex? I haven't heard much about how these handle. Audi's handle like crap, so it's gotta be an improvement.
What is the clutch life like? I keep seeing ones with 120-150,000km on them with original clutches! I'm used to 6 puck ceramic clutches that burn out in 20-50k

Back to the G35!
How long so these clutches last? Are they a full disk organic design?

Looked at a 03 fully loaded with brembos and a aftermarket pioneer LCD deck (which fits, it isn't haphazardly planted in the column). 153,000km on it, possibly stock clutch, will have to run a vin check to see for sure.
Only thing that bugs me is there's a 2" scratch on the passenger side rear fender flare, and it was obviously touched up with darker silver paint. Gonna have to maybe get that fixed. It honestly looks like it's just perpetually dirty in that tiny spot now, could probably ignore it.
Also can't decide my opinion on this tan interior...
