Soon-to-be G35 Coupe 6MT Owner

What do I need to know?
My reason's for getting a G are:
-Japanese and reliable
-Modern styling for a 10 year old car
-280 HP is pretty good for a stock car
-Panty dropper

I'm in the price range up to 14k and from what it seems, I'll be getting one with around 85,000-95,000 miles.

****
I know the odds and ends of buying a used car, but what should I look for that is G specific?

Thanks ahead of time.

-Kevin

Depending on the year/motor you find, the only major complaint owners have is oil consumption. Be sure to get all the paperwork available to see how often the maintenance was done. Check the oil on the spot and gauge the amount in there from its last change.
Also, sounds silly but check the power windows. Window motors seem to be an issue as well.
Other people can probably chime in for some other small problems.
Beyond that, do the normal checks for any other used car; trans, suspension, brakes..etc
You won't be disappointed in this vehicle!

Thanks! Coming from a VW, I am used to excessive oil consumption. Good to know about the power windows. I am looking from a few stock cars from dealerships, so I can beat on it for a few months and see if I rattle any issues out. But I am looking at this one...

Anyone know anything about this car?

Looks good if the guys being genuine with his claims. I stayed away from anything 03-05 though due to the restyling for 06-07 and the fact that the cars aren't as old. Up to you tho. Always take it to an infiniti dealer for inspection b4 purchase forsure.

"From a shop" If it was done because of the oil consumption issue (don't ask, see if they say why they had to get a new engine) then that is pretty solid. Price is good, I imagine it comes with the OEM 18's anyways. You wouldn't want those wheels, they are bad quality from this far away.

Looks like a nice car, price is right for CL.

I'd be conscious of the racing clutch too. I don't know how much city driving you do but you do not want a racing clutch in traffic. It would be an understandable assumption to believe the motor was replaced due to the oil issues but obviously we can't be certain.
Also I agree, you do not want those wheels pictured. Get yourself some OEM Rays or Enkei's from a 37 and you'll be clean.

Those wheels are ugly. Don't pay the extra $1k. That is actually a pretty good deal for the mileage, upgrades, brembo/6spd package and condition. I have the same car in white and I like to have sex with it.

Uhh... Yeah.

I didn't see the racing clutch but that is always a fun one to change out to learn about your car.
