looking to buy an '04 G35 w/ 65K miles
my family is giving me a hard time pairing the RWD of the G35 coupe and the winter season, they saying I should look for a jeep or AWD instead, but I really want the G coupe, so I intend to buy snow tires to use during the winter. has anyone on here ever driven the g35 in snow?
hey guys guess what happened when I went to go meet the owner and car today.....everything about the car looks great, the exterior is very nice, cant complain about the interior either, the car has 2 mods on it, a cat back is what he called it and an intake manifold as well.
When I got there the car wouldn't start...it would make that initial starting noise but it wouldnt just fire up. he checked the fuses which looked ok, and the battery he said is suppose to be functional at this point of time, he says he thinks its the spark plug.
He says this has never happened before and today was the first time the car wouldn't start. he said he wont sell a car that doesn't start and he'll look into the problem and get back to me.
I wonder what is preventing the car from starting, otherwise it looks impeccable and I will buy for 13,200, he wouldn't go lower saying the car is in excellent condition; I also have that pre-owned infiniti inspection this Thursday as well

so im not entitely sure if anyone is paying attention to this thread anymore...but the not starting problem was attributed to the spare key not having a chip inside it that the car recognizes to allow it to start. the owner said once he started it with his original key the car started as always.
so the spare key without the proper chip installed could be why the g35 doesn't start for some drivers. idk this is the first time I've heard of it.
thanks.

You can get a spare key cut, but takes a locksmith or stealership to program. Should be able to knock off a hundred to get that spare key programmed .
I only have one key with purchase but two spares i just bought I need to have cut and programmed.
A cut key will unlock a door but will not start a car unless it is programmed , so good to have I f you lock the good key in the car.
13200 still sounds high for a car that clutch should go out soon. With cat back and intake spacer, he probably liked to gun it every once in a while, or a couple hp wouldn't matter to him to make that investment.
Offer 12700 cash.
