looking for a hobby car. is this a reasonable offer? what troubles should i expect from a car with this much kilometrage (228Kms=142.5K miles)? timing/bushings/tranny/suspension need to be replaced soon? hoping to get 10 years NOT as a daily driver.

thanks all,

If you want a heart-pounding driver’s car, this is the one for you!

With the trademark VQ35 engine growl, 6 cylinders, 3.5 litre engine and 280 HP, this is an agile and quick car built for drivers. Carefully maintained by a mature owner, this car has all the bells and whistles.
• Keyless entry and start
• Traction Control

• Bluetooth Handsfree
Bose sound system with aux input for smart devices
• Heated Power Seats
• Memory Driver's Seat
• Sunroof /Moonroof
• Power everything
• Driver, passenger and side airbags
• Security alarm
• Cruise control (for when your Grandma wants to drive)

Includes a new set of Blizzak winter tires, run for only two months ($1,800 value new)

All clean, highway miles.

Priced to sell at $10,400.

Raz my coupe was bought with 112,650 kilometers. I hate the fact there's no AUX it bugs me but I just make cd's now... No real problems my SES just came on im at 123,920 kilometers literally in 8 minutes running to autozone to see what codes are being thrown. All in all I love it and its totally worth it, I will fix it until its not possible anymore.

Aux input can be added. You'll need to ask the owner about this. I added an OEM Nissan ipod adapter to my BOSE setup and use an old 80GB ipod strictly for music. Haven't used a CD in years.

As for buying a 150K mile hobby car...not sure that I would unless you are going to go through it and replace a lot of suspension stuff with performance mods. I'm at 160K miles and at the point where the car is nickel and diming me on minor repairs.

Welcome to G35 Driver Forums, RazG!

If this coupe is well cared for and you have a record of maintenance preformed, it looks like a good deal for a fun project car. If you're one of those smart individuals that keeps his rides in the garage protected from the elements she should last you a very long time! Drop the hammer and enjoy the ride RazG!

I think you can shop around and find something a little better for the same price or close to it.

142k miles for an 06 seems a little high IMO. Something a little off to me also since it doesn't have the normal 2006 front bumper and 19" Rays, so it possibly was swapped.

Some issues You can expect are:
- replace suspension parts (control arms/bushings, etc)
- minor issues like rattling noises inside the car, seatbelts not retracting, worn door stops
- cracks on dash
- paint chipping

If I were you, I'd pass on this one and keep looking. Try to find an 05/06 with the 6speed manual if possible, 19" Rays rims, and lower miles (under 100k miles if you can). It may cost a little more but it will be worth it. Good luck.
