Decision between two 06
Yeah, I love manuals. My first car was an auto and I changed it to a manual. But for the last twenty years, I move 20 feet at a time, sometimes hundreds of times, waiting in gate traffic to get on base every morning. After you push the clutch in and out hundreds of times moving 20' at a time at 5 mph... a manual starts to loose it's appeal.
One day, the only manuals will be in the bottom line, cheapest models. The autos are already faster, and get better gas mileage. You can't out shift the computer in today's sports car. I do love spinning in third with a clutch though...

Scraggle, your eyes must be totally brown!
You always want to buy an unmodified car even if its a bit more expensive. The #1 car has been lowered, so he probably demodded his sh!tbox ricer, but didn't have his stock springs (or didn't wanna deal with demodding the suspension). A modded car screams, "I've been driven hard as fukc!". Always go with a clean unmodified car when deciding between the two.
Just because an owner upgrades his G35 doesn't mean it hasn't been taken care of ScraggleRock! You continue to make blanket comments like this one, maybe you should attend a few meets and see how modified coupes and sedans are taken care of...just a suggestion!

Eh, I still agree with him. It's not so much the quality of mods or the fact that the car is modded, but the taste of the owner. Very rarely do I see a modded car I like 100% as is. So if I were to buy a modded car, i'd probably spend more money demodding certain things and redoing it the way I wanted.
So i'd prefer to just buy an unmodded car.
Unless you have a relationship with the person you're buying from, it's a little sketch when buying a modded car for the pure reason as you don't know the entire story of everything...especially when it comes to mods beyond just the simple bolt ons
As with most decisions...to each their own

When buying a car from anyone it's advisable to have a conversation with them! Why did you do this or that, do you have the OE parts this car came with? Service records, are they available? I have all the OE parts SLICK came with except the OE front bumper/wheels/headlights, if the next buyer wanted to return to OE cost wouldn't be a factor...but she's not for sale!

So here is the end of story for that car:
Everything under the hood was good.... aaaaaand thats about it.
In total would have to be $2k done in part changes + paint was chipping multiple places, small corrosion on side of the door, interior... leather crumpled and LOOKED like the car was driven 3x what odometer displays. I even came up with a theory that perhaps under the hood was taken from another car and put into this one. The story behind this car is not exactly known even to its current owner.
Disappointed, especially since interior in pictures he posted were looking completely different.

Or just give us the VIN, I'll find a carfax.
seller didn't bring carfax, even though he said he would, and after that sort of feedback from mechanic and view of the car, I didn't bother recording VIN.
Well, I am still going to keep an eye out for g35.
