Buying a g35 with a welded diff?

So im 16 looking for my first car and ive got 6k. I found this nice g35 6spd manual coupe 05 for 5k in my area but it has a welded diff. My parents definitely wont be comfortable with me buying a car with one so ive been trying to research how much or how hard it would be to replace it. Was thinkin Maybe here someone can help me find some information.

Run. Very far away. A G35 for your first car is a horrible idea. Between maintenance (unless your good at wrenching) and usual upkeep costs this isn't the car you want. No matter how cool they look lol

Tell yer parents to get over it and buy it. Then drive into a fire while laughing (at nothing).

The diff is very easy to replace so it's not exactly a "problem" in itself, it will just be another $400-800 depending on how much you can get a replacement for but the BIG problem is if they welded the diff then they were thrashing on the car and it's probably all beat to hell on the suspension and drivetrain.

Probably someone's old drift car.

And yes to add to what others have said, this is a luxury sports car. It's much more expensive to repair than a budget vehicle like a Civic.

Luxury = money
Sports car = money

Exactly what cleric said - if it has a welded diff, then someone has been modifying it CHEAPLY! If they welded the diff instead of investing in an LSD, then they probably skimped on other things like tires, brakes, maybe even oil changes.

For a first car, get something cheap to run and easy to fix. I graduated to a G after 5 years in a "EK" generation Civic hatchback. It was a great little car, I could throw bikes and/or pretty much all of my belongings into the back of it when I moved, and I learned a LOT about wrenching by fixing and modifying all the little things on it.

I've actually been scouring my local CL to get back into a little Civic hatch as a project car...

Get an RSX S, cheap, good mileage, plenty of upgrades available and the 200hp it makes is MORE THAN PLENTY for a daily driver.
