How much are you guys paying for 05's?
Just pulled the trigger 5 days ago at Grubbs in TX. '05 Lakeshore Slate/Stone with 5AT, sport, premium, nav, aero (R01), trunk mat, splash guards. Paid 36740 + TTL, which is roughly invoice (MSRP 40,250). They threw me a bone and also included free tinting, dealer cost 99 (MSRP 299). I was somewhat disappointed that I couldn't get 200-1000 below invoice like others recently. Probably would have gotten a better price if I waited till the end of the month or longer, however, as others have mentioned, choice of colors and options would be more limited. One suggestion for prospective buyers, try to nix the trunk mat...it blows...fits kinda like a bad toupee.
when you guys said "invoice", doesnt it mean just the invoice price for the car?
if so, then how are the options been charged do u still pay the full price on the options and have that add on to the invoice price of the car? (lets say you get the car on invoice price)
For instance my car stickered at $39,400. Invoice was $36K, which they showed me and I confirmed on several websites. I paid $35K+ TTT, which is $1K below invoice.
They still made money, otherwise they wouldn't have sold me the car.

I think I would have negotiated harder/gotten a better deal if I was going for an Obsidian black or DG car, of which there about a dozen of these cars on each lot with various levels of options. For athens blue or lakeshore slate, there will be some slim pickins at this point. The upshot is available colors/options may limit your ability to negotiate an under invoice price...or I may be just trying to rationalize my poor negotiation skills.

Didnt see it was a blue...its a good purchase dont worry
I just felt that crest and grubbs were very poor in regards to customer service compared to sewell. They didnt answer questions, wouldnt return calls like they promised, and generally had a condescending attitude.

a quick question on dealing with the dealer online. lets say i email them all online and tell them the car i want (of course, email to those that have what i want on the lot), should i tell them my target price? or how should i word the email? i have heard that one should always try to let the dealers fight over your money..so that way, they will give you the best price.
another way may be to call the fleet manager at each dealer? how would that work?
any suggestions on how i can get the best deal on a 05 is appreciated.
p.s. im thinking bout 1000 to 1500 below invoice..on a manual IP..is that possible?

Got a '05 6mt coupe fully loaded through George at Rosenthal a month ago for $400 over invoice with free oil changes for 3 years. Check out inventory on internet, get details & invoice pricing through edmunds. Ask for invoice now that 06 pricing available for orders. Good experience and would do again.
thanks Gboy. i went to Rosenthal just a few days ago and they had one last
IP 6 speed..with 600 miles on it. it has all the things i want but since im not in a hurry to buy it now, so i didnt really go in details with the sales guy bout pricing..but he did give me a ball park price range. he said prob around 1500 to 2000 off of the MSRP. the guy was nice overall, but didtn really know much bout G35..lol. i said, well, 06 is comin out soon hum... he said yeah, one more month, but there arent any changes besides memo seats. i was like.uh.. dude, there ARE plenty of changes..he was like no its all the same..same shape (yeah..lol..same shape alright..). then i gave up trying to tell him what have been changed.. a sales person workin in infiniti dont even no what they sellin...sigh
anyways, the price should Def. go much lower than $2000 off of MSRP. im even thinkin bout 1000+ below invoice..altho not sure if its possible. however, infiniti in chantily has quite a few IP left..and plenty of other G35c left..so i'll take my time and see waz up!
maybe i'll wait till the 06 comes out and by then, it be close to winter..price will prob drop like there is no tomorrow (at least i hope..lol).

Only 2000$ off MSRP for a 05 coupe with 600 ragged out miles on it!?!?!? I would have laughed so hard at the salesman and then walked away. That car should be atleast 1500$ off invoice.
coupes are still very hot in many parts of the country, and they still dont deal much on them. I know that is how it is here in STL. Want a sedan though, and they will work with you. I got my G35X about 5 months ago for 1% over invoice, right off the truck.
I just bought mine 10/19/05 for 100 under invoice:
05 blk/graphite G35C 6MT Nav/aero/prem at 35,800.
Invoice is a bunch of crap - dealers get kickbacks etc they probably made 1000 on the deal even though they said they were making nothing. This is how you calculate it out. They normally have about 10% profit on those cars so for instance a list of 39,400 they would have 35,460 in the car. Invoice on the net is 35,900 although their profit margin may be different , some places its 12% others like BMW its around 7%. The dealers will never deal that low though you gotta allow them 1-2k profit unless you were like me and purchase one close to when the 06's are coming out, then you'll get a good deal, waiting till the end of the month helps also since they get bonuses for selling a certain amount of cars that month. Be careful when you put a deposit down too because they will conveniently forget to give you credit for it ; ) hope this helps

I just saw a commercial for Bob Moore Infiniti in Oklahoma City advertising $3000 off MSRP for '05 G35 sedans and coupes they have on their lot. I went there the other day and they have a bunch of whites and blacks in mostly automatics. If you're in the market, and live nearby, it might be worth a look.
Again, this is not confirmed. I only saw the commercial a few minutes ago.
