My local dealer just offered me a 05 black/black 6mt w/ premium and aero for 37.8k + TTL. I'm in n.cal and they have to order this from s.cal. WTH lol.

Is there a good s.cal dealer that is willing to deal because this dealer doesn't really seem to want my money...

nvoice is a bunch of crap - dealers get kickbacks etc they probably made 1000 on the deal even though they said they were making nothing
Invoice is a common standard we can go by, but yes, the dealers get kickbacks in the form of Holdback Dollars (2-4%). If the dealer told you he was making nothing on the sale then of course he's lying. I've yet to meet a car dealer who will sell a new car at a true loss. Ain't gonna happen. I paid $1K below invoice and I KNOW they still made money, the salesguy didn't play that "'m not making anything on this deal" which is a good thing b/c I would have laughed in his face.

Not sure, I wrote a BIG check for my new G, but for comparison's sake my Credit Union is offering 4.95% for 48 months. I can't earn that on a CD so it made sense to pay cash.

A dealer just offered me an '05 6MT with premium for $400 over invoice...making it around $36.6kOTD...I refused =P. Looking to spend less than $35k on a '05 coupe...am I dreaming?

Edit: Price lowered to $36.1k OTD....

Price for '05 G35 Coupe

Its November and the '06s are on the dealer lots. How much should I be paying for '05s? Is below invoice a reasonable request?

i got invoice.. on my 06. I was seeing 1000-1500 under invoice for the 05 g35x i saw left over. Problem was there really arent any around. Definitely get closer to a metro area.

In the course of my search, i called around some dealers outside of nyc area, the further out i went the higher the prices were. I found an 05 car with the options i wanted in CT, those clowns wanted 500 over invoice and swore its the best deal i would ever find.

I picked up my car last week, and today the CT dealer called to "follow up", it was so gratifying to tell them i got better pricing on an 06 locally.

If you cant get less than invoice on an 05, i would skip it and get an 06.

I purchased my 05' G35 Sedan on Nov. 5, 2005 from Infiniti of Mission Viejo.

I got premium package C with no navigation.

I offered them 31,000 plus my trade in, so my price before TTL was $29,500.

Final sale price after taxes and fees was approximately $33,780.

With all the inventory still on the lots, you can literally choose your color and make your deal.

I bought my G a month ago, and I paid just under $36k OTD for my 05 6MT sedan w/ navi, no aero. If I remember right, it was $32 before taxes...
Oh, and that price included trucking to my area from down south...

I was quoted $33,665 for an 05 6mt coupe with Premium package today.

According to cars.com the invoice on this is $33,393.

How does this deal sound?

Scott

Hmmm... everyone is just throwing prices and options out there, but its hard to judge everyones deals.
You need to quote invoice price, just head to edmunds or cars.com and price out the car with exactly the options you have. You need to do this before you purchase any car.

For 05's if you are below invoice, you are fine, 1k below and you are at the limits of what the dealer can do.

If you are a cent over invoice on an 05, its not a good deal. Dont care which state you live in, how rare yer color/options are, if you are over invoice on an 05, just wait for yer options/color in an 06. Tell this to your salesman as well.
