Just wanted to say thanks to Finiti35 and jimcambell. I am still debating between the AT and MT, I am going to see if I can find someone to teach me to drive MT.

If you want to have a "sports" car then get the manual. The clutch and shifter is a bit jerky between shifts. I wouldn't put this tranny above anything but mayb a hyundai. But with a bit of practice, you could pull off smooth shifts with little concentration. I hate the 6mt at times but at times I like the control. Oh and many people are having tranny issues and having to replace them so good luck with your decision. If I were to choose again, I would get the auto but its too late now (don't feel like trading it in and losing alot of $$ which i don't have much of) and the shifting is gettin better. Whichever you choose, I bet you'll b happy.

I live on a hill with stop lights along the way up, and I STILL got the 6MT.

Own two cars with manual tranny. Love it. Feels like I have more control over my car.

Try having an experienced MT driver go with you to pick up your car, then they can tell you exactly how to use the clutch in it, as each clutch in different cars feels a bit different.

Thanks for the advice G35Gnome, but I have not ordered it or signed any papers yet, I am still trying to decide between the AT and MT, and if I think I can learn the MT without destroying a 36,000-40,000 car, LOL.

My only regret is that I wish I learned how to drive a stick shift before I bought my G35. This is my first manual car. I stalled a couple of time on the street, and rolled backward half a car length on a hill. Very scary when you're driving a $33K+ car. I hope my clutch didn't wear out as much. I'm getting used to it now and loving it.

I have had 6 cars in my life, two were autos,('55 T-Bird & '52 Lincoln), the rest were bought new. I will never WANT to drive an auto, but with traffic the way it is now, it is almost a necessity to have an automatic as an alternative.

EXACTLY! Who wants to drive a "granny tranny 5AT slug-o-matic" anyway?

Granny trannies are for women who like to talk on cellphones and put on makeup while they drive... Right G8tor20???

J/K, come on... a guy's gotta have a little fun every now and again.

No regrets whatsoever! After only putting 224miles on the clock, I knew I had made an excellent decision by getting the 6MT!
