Hello everyone. Help with buying G35.
greetings,
i just registered to this forum so i guess you could say i'm a noob.
so here comes a noob question:
is there anything that i should look out for when buying used g35?
my budget is somewhere between 27-28k.
the car is actually not for me but is for my gf.
(i'm just helping not buying for her)
so it's gonna be automatic coupe.
is there any package options??
if so which pacakge options are must/good?
any problems with, say 30-40k miles? electrical/mechanical?
any help would be appreciated!!
TIA.

27-28k... might be kind of hard, but possible.
The dealership where i picked up mine had an 04 with 30k on the clock and they were asking $31k. Diamond Graphite with Tan interior. Auto with Premium and Sport package. I think that's really all you need to enjoy a G35c. The Navi and Aero is something most people can live without.

Premium package = Bose, sunroof, auto headlights, dual zone A/C, homelink, something else I'm maybe forgetting. Most Gs come with it. Easiest way to tell if a car has it is by the homelink buttons on the rearview mirror.
Aero package = rear spoiler
Performance tire and wheel package = 7-spoke 18" wheels and limited slip differential. There's no such thing as sport package on 03/04
Navi - I doubt you'd find one that cheap with Navi
I'd say the Premium is nice to have, but chances are most Gs you'll look at will have it. If you live up north where it snows, your gf doesn't really want the 18" wheels because she's going to need winter wheels/tires anyway. As far as mechanical issues are concerned, window motors and gas tank not filling up all the way are 2 more common problems.
