2005 g35 coupe insurance?

I'm a first time car buyer and live in CA. I'm 30 male driver with a clean record. Can anyone whose has a coupe and similar driving history provide me with how much they are paying for insurance. I'm getting six month quotes for insurance at between 900-1600 for six months. Are cheap insurance companies like AIG and geico worse when it comes to paying claims than expensive ones like state farm and allstate. Any info would be appreciated

I think some people have gotten really cheap insurance in CA from... Mercury? I think that was the name (don't live in Cali anymore, but friends mentioned this company.)

have you tried e-surance.com or call up progressive or geico direct 1800 numbers. it does vary upon where you live and how far you drive ... etc...
