I'm a noob ready to place my order for a 2006 G from my dealer...but have been following the discussions to the absence of "06 splash guards" for the 2006 model.

In looking on ebay...I found this car.

Appears to have an 05 front bumper (hard to tell in black), 05 spoiler, but 06 taillights. With a build date of 9/05.

It also has both front and rear splash guards. From searching I found members saying front splash guards will not fit due to the redesigned side-skirts. I have a hard time telling if this car has 06 or 05 side-skirts due to the black color.

Any ideas?

 

It is an 06' with an 03-05' spoiler. I believe the front bumper for an 06' automatic is the same as the 05'; the 06' 6MT is different. The front splash guard is only not available for the 6MT due to the change is side skirt. The 06' automatic side skirt and front splash guard is the same.

I was confused about the front bumper as well the other day when I was at the dealership for repairs. As far as the spoiler, the previous owner must have requested an 05 spoiler replacement. Many new 06' buyers prefer the older spoiler. I was definitely contemplating between the two different styles; glad I chose to stick with the 06' spoiler. I new it would grow on me.

 

The '06 bumper isn't only for the 6MT. I have the new bumper on my 5AT. The difference is the sport tuned suspension package. I've tried to order splash guards for "sport tuned suspension" but when they came in they didnt fit. So they ordered the old ones. But anyways, it's just like everyone else said. 2006 base without the new front and sides so the old guards fit.

 

here's the deal: G35 coupes automatic with the sport tuned suspension package will get the 19inch wheels and the sport style front bumper, different side valences than the non-sport.... that is why the splash guards will not work on teh front -- but the rear splash guards will work....

you can still get a '06 automatic g35 coupe with any package -NON SPORT TUNED SUSPENSION PACKAGE and will have the '03-'05 front bumper and side skirts so the splash guards will work.
