before I got my 05, i found an ad in the tacoma paper classified and it was listed for 10,500 for an 04 G Coupe. I said ....hmmm....this can't be true so i emailed the seller. Well he stood to his price...it wasn't a typo, but he was in N.J. and I was in washington. So he insisted that I go ahead with the deal cause he lost his job and he needed the cash really bad. So I emailed back and said to send me the VIN number, but I never got around to checking it. I told the guy "How can we arrange for me to see the car?" He said he would meet me in N.J. when ever I wanted to go there to see it. He was in living in texas or oklahoma or something. I was like ....hmmm.. this guy must be serious...but I smelled a setup. Why would he leave his car in N.J. ? So I left it alone.

Ok I still have the emails:
Here is the first when I made an inquiry...

I had few problems and i wasn't able to check my email, however, the 2004 Infinity G35 Coupe is still for sale. Email me if you're still interested.

Notice the wrong spelling in bold for starters.

2nd email: (Here you can see the car is still on the personal website)

First of all I need to tell you that I have moved at my parents in Oklahoma City, OK after I have lost my job, and the car is locked in a garage in Union City, NJ, at my old address.
I am selling the car only because I have recently lost my job, and I don't have any savings, the bills and the loans I have to pay are too high. I was forced to move at my parents as I was not able to pay my rent, and right now I need to sell the car as I can't afford it.
This car is in perfect condition inside and out, has been babied the entire time I have had it, and it was never involved in any kind of accidents. The car has 21000 miles. The interior is spik and span clean, and there are no mechanical problems.
The tires will not need to be changed any time soon. I have a clear title that come with the car so you don't need to worry about this.
I have uploaded few pics and you can see them here http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/tomm_554/album?.dir=/693d
Please email me back and let me know if you're still interested in the car, and tell me your location. If you need me to i can ship the car with no extra costs. The price is $10,500

3rd and last email:
If you decide to buy the car I have to come to NJ and I can ship it to your address or we can meet there and take the car to a dealer for an inspection. Anyway before I do that I will need the payment to be made, as I don't want to make the trip in vain. If you think you could do that we can make this deal work. Do you have all the money ready for the car I know that $10,500 is a large amount so to get started I will ask for a 50% down payment.
For our safety I want to make this deal through an escrow company, SquareTrade, and they will act like a third party. I will register the transaction with them and I will pay for the transaction fees, as it is my request.
Here's how they work: I will register the transaction with SquareTrade and I will provide all the details to them. They will send you a confirmation with the buyer protection program and infos on how to make the payment. The payment will be made to them and they will hold the money untill you'll confirm that you have the car and it is as described, and then they will release the funds to me, otherwise, if the car is not as you expected, all you have to do is to ask for a refund, and they will give all your money back.
If you decide to make this deal I will need your full name and home address in order to start the transaction.
Let me know what you think about it. I'll wait for your email.

If this was a legit deal...well I'll admit that I screwed up...but I wasn't chancing it.

I was dealing with someone with an almost identical situation, but he was in London. 04' 6MT with 9k miles for $11k. Many numerous emails, but I never went through with it. The funny part was that I used carfax and checked the VIN and it was fine, AND it actually sold a few weeks later. makes you go hmmmmmm.

, you can always go by the dealership and sell your G for at least 2 times that. If it where you, would you hassle with selling your G to a private party, taking a risk, and loosing about 20k on the deal? I would have just ran over to the dealership and sold it to them.
Most car scammers work from outside the US (especially Nigeria) since our laws do not apply to them. They will often want to use auto brokers or escrow services from outside the US that have a fake office here. Email the guy back and forth a few times, if he has broken english and starts coming up with how badly he needs the money to support his kids, pay for a funeral, or just how bad life is for him,.....he's trying to scam you for sure.
