Input needed from '05 and up 6MT owners!

I'm considering an '05 6MT. I have test driven an '05 auto with sport suspension and 19" wheels. I have located an '05 6MT with Nav.

Question: If you had to take a 300 mile drive in your 6MT on the interstate, much of it with expansion joints, at the end of the day, would you feel like you had been beat to death or would it have been a pleasant drive? More importantly, how would your wife or girlfriend feel?

I am coming from an '01 Vette. In the short test drive I took in the G, the G seemed stiffer. I don't want to spend that kind of money and 1 month later be sick of the car.

Any input would be appreciated.

I have driven my 05 6MT on 300 mile interstate trips, and have had no problems with the ride comfort. I find it very comfortable for long trips.

No issues here either...I find the car to be comfortable...I don't know about pulling a cross country trip, but 300 miles no prob. I want to drive From MD to FL this summer just because it would be fun.

The G is very pleasant on long trips at highway speeds. It's city driving over potholes and speedbumps that are a little annoying. But I manage to deal with it

i did two 400 mile trips in a weekend, and was alert and comfortable the whole time. It is the stop and go at rush hour that bites...

Theres an 05 With NAV (well last week there was) at the Infiniti Dealer in Greenville,SC.

Back to the topic.. I have done 2 600mile Interstate Highway trips and I love the car.. time goes by quick in the G.. on the interstate I get 25MPG avg.. and its smooth and when I need to get up and go... I do!! Its an experience.. not just a trip.

Klerk,

The car is a loaded '05 with 9,600 miles. It is being sold by an individual. I can't divulge much more.......... someone might steal it out from under me.

Also depends on where you live, IMO. I've been to DFW and Houston and the roads suck. And LA... ...horrible.

Roads are pretty good in West Texas, so it would really be more a matter of seat comfort for me. The seat is a bit narrow for me, especially due to the seat-control location (I'm 6'1" @ 190lbs, barrel-chested). Also, the tire roar from the 19's/OEM tires would get tiresome, IMO.

Nothing more for me than 40 miles or so in a day, with maybe a couple of hours behind the wheel in a day in the city... ...so far. Just no need yet. I just turned 2025 miles while at lunch.

It's fine... I've done the drive from San Francisco to LA and back once in my 04 350Z Touring 6MT (stock) when I had it then once in my 05 G 6MT (when it was stock). It's 440 miles each way. I did all the driving and only stopped to top off the tank.

It's fine. The G with Sport Tuned Suspension is not as nearly as harsh as the 350Z which wasn't bad either. I'd rather do a road trip in a Z rather than a comfy sedan or minivan anyday.

Go for the 6m/t--The 6th gear will be ur friend (slightly better mpg--will show more on highway driving). Comfort shouldn't be a problem, unless you are redlining w/ each shift to jerk back heads--but driving normal will yield a comfortable ride (in my experience at least). Good luk.

Since you have drove the G35 and so you knew that buttons for seat adjustement is at awkward place, as long it doesnt bothers you, then it sure be no problem on the long trips.
