2006 Sedan purchase...am I getting a good deal?

Hey everyone, my mother is in the process of getting a 2006 G35 5AT Sedan.

Can someone tell me if she's getting a fair deal? I'm doing all the legwork for her on the purchase so I need some ammo for the dealership if they're pulling some tricks on me.

Here are the details
  • 2006 Ivory Pearl/Wheat leather G35 Sedan 5MT
  • Navigation
  • Premium pkg B
  • Sport Susp
  • Splash guards
  • Aero pkg
I was quoted an MSRP of $38,520.00.

Their final offer was $36,520.00, am I getting a fair deal?

The invoice price on www.edmunds.com is $35,312.00 a difference of $1,208.00.

What do you all think?

I was re-reading my post and saw that I should reword my question...

IS paying $1,208 over invoice the average most have paid/are paying for this vehicle?

An '06 sedan with all the trimings (except SAT radio).

Thanks for the help guys/gals.

With an all new G to be unveiled next month, I would try to get a better deal or just wait and see whether the new one will be worth the wait. I think most dealers would jump on $1000 over invoice so her offer is not very competitive.

I dont think anyone should be paying higher than invoice on the Sedan NOW, ppl are paying only 500 above invoice on coupes last couple of months, not saying that anything wrong with the Sedan but there are usually less of demand and more supplies for the G35 Sedans in general.

All of you make very valid points. Especially since the new design is coming next year.

How do you suppose I negotiate a new price with the dealer if they stand by the "The One Simple Price" idea?

FYI the purchase will be taking place at GUNN Infiniti of San Antonio, TX.
