Great article on the GT500. I personally love the look of this car and think it is probably the best bang for your buck performance wise. Not to many 500HP cars out there for $50K CDN.

Great HP no doubt, but the styling is too retro for my taste. Ford is also notorious for their poor craftmanship, which might explain the low cost. In all I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a Ford. The Chrysler 300 SRT8 is not far from it and the looks and quality are 100X better. JMHO.

I've had a few Ponies and certainly wouldn't mind another especially with that moniker.

Love the car, problem is Ford is known for having 1001 bugs in new models, then it takes them about 4 years to work them out...i have seriously getting the gt500, if i do i would get the extended warranty for sure just to be safe....the current gt models are holding up their value pretty well so that is a sign of relief...who knows maybe i will give my G to my GF or keep the my G and get the GT500 as well as a lease or something...

Both of those cars fit into the bang for buck category. Any way you slice it the 500 will be a highly competent muscle car for the money. Styling- just ok IMHO, resale and cachet- same answer but if you want to go fast for cheap - oh yeah.
The GT on the other hand is incredible. Timeless styling and desirable heritage, supercar performance all around and incredibly cheap relative to that segment. I would love to own one of these. A local dealer has one of those blue and orange ones sitting in the showroom!

Thats true dealers had the tendency to mark up the price up to 7K more when the 05 GT mustang came out...Well let me rephrase that, the only dealer that marked them up was World Ford of Kendall, when i went to negotiate a price for one these they would not budge, so i sent them to f**k themselves, and went to other dealers and they were more than happy to sell the GT at 500 over invoice...Armstrong Ford of Homestead was even willing to sell me the Roush Edition at 500 Over invoice which tells me that the dealer was trying to have a satisfied customer...
