Thanks Andy. I'm pretty busy for the next few weeks so the G won't be getting done until the week of June 12.

Hey Deane,

Haven't checked the boards of late. Glad to see that no one was hurt. Has fault been assigned to her by the police? If so, you should have a rental car at no expense to you.

I was just in the city on Friday- I'm not sure who's worse, the drivers or the engineers that came up with the infrastructure and the rules dictating its use.
Examples: the wrong way to use a rotary (just about got nailed by some joey, as by either way of designating right of way- "clear left" or my Haligonian fave "one and one", I had it, but despite this, he figured he'd have a go, anyway). Just got back from Portugal. They, along with all of Europe and the UK know how to use this type of intersection.
And then there's yield, not merge, onto highways from cloverleaf entries (anyone for a game of chicken ???)
Finally, the seemingly arbitrary lane designations painted only right at the intersection, so for the uninitiated, every approach to an intersection is a new adventure in discovery and chance, normally where one either exclaims "hey, I got that one right, cool" or "sh*t, I f*%ked that one up as well, oh well, I guess we're turning left now, honey..."

For non-Nova Scotianers, I'm laughin' here thinkin about this stuff, and please take this in the jest that it's meant. As I said to start, glad to see no one was hurt. As much as we love our cars, metal and plastic can be replaced. Not so for us.

Cheers,
Derek

Good to see you back Derek. Hope you had great trip.

Yes, fault has been assigned to her. It was never in doubt since the police at the scene even said to me she has to check before making a left and coming through my lane. No kidding. I also had a witness.

Yes, a rental will be provided but it's not really needed as the G isn't my daily driver anyhow. Maximum is $50/day incl. tax so don't know what I can get for that.

I hear you on the rotary stuff. Was talking about that when Colin was down. It's kind of wacky.

Check here for some more information on a summer trip we're planning. Any chance you can make it?

Only rotary powered cars should be allowed to use rotaries.

But if the engine in a rotary powered car turned clockwise on a 90deg axis to the rotary traffic circle....
Wouldn't the car act like a gyro?
You'd just sit there on the spin cycle

It would be fun but I'm sure I'm no match for a guy with a bunch of track experience. We would be pulling lots of "G" forces around there
