New Hawk Pads Squealing
Sorry for hijacking this thread
What about if I'm getting that squeak thing only when I'm nearly stopped (1-2km/h) with STOCK brembos on? I notice it mainly coming to a complete stop at red lights and pulling into my garage.
I just had my 24K milestone check up done and I have over 60% of my pads left (so I know its not worn down).
I'm just wondering if this is a common thing with an easy solution.
Thanks,
Al

There's 2 types of squeak.
There is the pad compound friction squeak/squeel (you can not fix this)
And there is the pad shift resonation squeak that you can either eliminate or reduce with the use of brake quiet goop.

mine didn't squeek at all in the beginning, it's recently that it's started squeeking once in a LOONG while (like twice that i remember since i installed them)...
I love the low dusting these pads have though compared to the stock pads...i'd have a headache and a half trying to keep my volks clean if i was still running stock pads.

How about if I am squealing with stock pads?.. even tho I came from a brake service about a month ago..
Oakville made me do the rotors turning stuff instead of giving me new rotors ..and it costed me around $250 to do the whole thing

Absolutely no squeal, and dusting of the front pads is virtually identical to the rears, ie. minimal.
I did the bedding procedure as stated on the box right after installation, and the Permatex Goop was literally boiling on the pad!
No braking problems hot or cold (as some have mentioned elsewhere).
