New Hawk Pads Squealing

Guys, I put on Hawk pads last week and they were fine for a while but this week are squealing when I am nearly stopped.

I think I need some anti squeal grease for the pads. Any recommendations what to use and where to get some. They came with a little on them but not nearly as much as the stock ones had.

Crappy tire. Get the permatex stuff. Did you bed them in properly?

HAWK pads are just that way man. Nothing will help the squeal on them. I have new HPS pads and followed the break in and still have squeal. After my track event they are definitely louder now than before.

Will try tomorrow and let you know. I did the break-in as instructed last week.

Thanks

I had HP+ on a previous car and on the RX7 for a bit...you can't get rid of the squeal completely. But if it'll make you feel better, the pads on the 7 right now make everyone within a 300 foot radius stare at me whenever I come to a complete stop.

Hawk pads stop great but squeak like no tomorrow. I had them on my cobra nd loved the stopping power, but I sounded like I neglectd my car. Nothing really helps this other than going with a different brand.

Squeak and brake dust are always a compromise to make when it come to performance brake pads. There is no way around it.

Yes, I agree to a degree....
That has always been my experience.... until now.

I'm running Satisfied Pro Ceramics.
They are no problem at all.

I get a little squeek 1st thing when I back out of the driveway;
After that no noise at all. (& very little dust)
Easily the best all round pad I've used.

hmm interesting. I replaced both rotors and pads (front and rear) at the same time and also use the Hawk HPS pads. I have no squeak at all after following the procedure to the letter. BUT I also used the factor anti-squeak shims from my old pads on top of the Hawks. 10,000+ miles no squeak, very little break dust and they are wearing like iron and stopping has been incredibly improved.

Interesting. Mine only squeak when I am reversing, never when I'm moving forward. ??
