Old Recall Letter - Audio Finisher Circuit Board
Hey Guys,
It's not for me, but a guy on g35.ca had a problem with his car. I had the same thing and then we got a recall letter that covered two issues. One was for the Headlight Adjuster and included in this letter was for the Audio Finisher Circuit Board. The dealership said it's not a recall, but I know it was. I cannot find my letter, but I do have my service record. The recall was around Feb. 2003.
If you do have it, can you either post it up or email it to the guy.
Here's the post: http://www.g35.ca/board/index.php?showtopic=5098
Thanks

Thanks PDT for starting up the thread for me. I am still having the same problem on the car where the stereo locks up, all the stereo console lights go off and so does the a/c controls ...but the a/c turns on automatically for some odd reason and i cannot turn it off. I just hope that its the audio finisher circuit which is just causing the problem and not something else.
I need someone to find me that letter from infiniti about the recall on the audio stereo circuit. my email address is furqan416@hotmail.com
Anyone know where the circuit is located in the car?

It was not a recall but an advisory. I just had mine replaced 2 weeks ago. Are you/he out of warrenty? I ask because it was covered with my replacement. As for where it is located, the stereo and climate contol system is a single board. You may want to try this as a quick fix. Disconnect your battery for 30 min and allow the computer to do a reset. That worked for me before the replacement. Everything came back on correctly and fully functional.

Infiniti has a discount for the board for particular VIN ranges. normal price of the board is around $600 but with the discount its around $70. This is only for particular VIN ranges and not all cars get this discount. your dealer will be able to tell you if your qualified for this or not. If your still under warranty, your OK of course.

Argh, I just ended up with the same prob. No response/illumination from the buttons on the HVAC/Stereo controls. Called 401 Infiniti about it and they told me that the car already had the circuit board replaced under recall awhile back. I bought the car used so I was unaware. At least they acknowledged the problem. Are they obligated to fix it again second time around?
